Senator Charles Schumer, Dummycrat/NY, has signed a book deal to write about what he contends is the failure by both Republicans and Democrats to articulate a vision of government that addresses contemporary concerns. It is Mr. Schumer's belief that the political system has failed to provide answers. "The average American realizes this in his gut — that the world has changed, but the political parties have not," Mr. Schumer said in an interview on Sunday. He also said that government had a role in addressing these new realities, but that neither party had outlined that role.

It should be noted that "Chuckles" is heading the national Democratic effort to capture the United States Senate!
