Will history repeat?

The last time I mentioned soccer was the same day the American team opened World Cup play, they lost. Team USA plays again today and needs a win and Italy's help to advance.

Unlike most Americans, I enjoy the Fédération Internationale de Football Association(FIFA) World Cup. The only annoying aspect is the supposed non-stop clock. There are two forty five minute halves, but at the end of regulation the officials will add stoppage time. The stoppage time varies, usually from two to four minutes, and as a viewer it's usually 30 seconds into stoppage time before you find out how much has been added. The game never seems to exactly end at the stoppage time either.

I say stop the clock during play and that way EVERYONE, in the stadium and watching at home, will know when the match ends.

PS: The trophy is UGLY!

***UPDATE*** Team USA lost 2-1 to Ghana and was eliminated from World Cup competition.
