MSNBC checked records of the Federal Election Commission and found 144 journalists made political campaign contributions from 2004 through the first quarter of 2007.

The Ragister's business reporter S.P. Dinnen made the list with a $250 contribution to John Kerry in 2004.

Dinnen said he wasn't sure whether he gave to Kerry or not. "It might have been my wife. She's active in politics." He said he wasn't sure how the campaign would have gotten his occupation and employer for the records.
