Most thought the Drake men's basketball team winning the Missouri Valley Conference championship would be a crap shoot.

First year coach Keno Davis' squad showed a lotto heart and the scientific community is united in that fact.

It takes me back to the days of the vaunted "belly-button" defense that Maury John's teams were known for.

Teams with great players like Willie Wise, Dolph Pulliam, Don Draper, Willie McCarter and Jeff Halliburton.

Back then I could catch more games on TV than this season (no cable availability).
