Who's Fat?

President Obama says he's taking additional steps to spur private sector hiring.

After a year in which the federal government added jobs at almost the rate of 10,000 per month, it would be nice and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Federal employees also saw the number of civil servants (382,758) making $100,000 or more jump over 46% since the recession started and that's not including overtime pay and bonuses.

66,538 make $150,000 or more (an increase of 119%) and 22,157 make $170,000 or more (an increase of 93%).

That's not including the $41,000 in non-salary benefits the average federal employee receives each year.

Across the board, the salary bonanza has pushed the average federal worker's pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.

So you can believe the President when he says...

"I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street".
