Suspended

Recently the geniuses that are the Des Moines Register editorial board shared their collective wisdom on school suspensions.

Schools kicking too many out of class

They jump to this conclusion with only the data of the total number of suspensions.

Naturally, they don't want to hold those suspended students, or their parents, accountable for the suspensions.

I believe I was in junior high when the culture went from supporting teachers (what did you do?) to sabotaging teachers (what did you do to my kid?) and the scientific community is united in that fact.

From the Ragister's editorial -- Out-of-school suspensions can result in kids being banned from extracurricular activities. Having to drop out of a school play or lose your place in a concert can be devastating. Some students may be so embarrassed they never want to rejoin. That doesn’t “teach them a lesson.”

Next these riders of the short bus will reason how being burnt by a flame will not teach the lesson of not playing with fire.

Ragister editors have been suspended from reality for far too long.
