Iowan (Idiot Of Warming At NASA) James Hansen announced he will retire from the space agency.

Hansen predicted over twenty years ago that much of Manhattan would be under water by now as the result of sea level rise caused by global warming.

 D'OH!

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

By March of 2004, Hansen leveled with us when he wrote --

"Emphasis on extreme scenarios may have been appropriate at one time, when the public and decision-makers were relatively unaware of the global warming issue. Now, however, the need is for demonstrably objective climate forcing scenarios consistent with what is realistic".

However, January 2009 found Hansen up to his old tricks again --

Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama’s first administration, he added.
