Attorneys in General

It's no wonder Shakespeare suggested the first thing was to kill all the lawyer's and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The Nebraska Attorney General is challenging a ruling that allows an Indian tribe to build a casino on their land in Carter Lake Iowa.

Carter Lake is on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River, just northeast of downtown Omaha. Its land was originally on the river’s east side, but flooding and shifting in 1877 left 2,000 acres on west side of the river, according to the city’s Web site.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1892 that Carter Lake belonged to the state of Iowa, and not Nebraska.

The A.G.'s weak ass argument...

given Carter Lake’s unique location, people headed to the planned casino would have to drive through Nebraska to get there.

Never mind that Nebraskan's have to drive through Nebraska to gamble at casino's in Council Bluffs, Onawa, Sloan and Sioux City.

Which is why my favorite line from UNFORGIVEN is...

English Bob to Little Bill Daggett: "Well, I thought that you were dead."

Little Bill Daggett: "Hell, I even thought I was dead...'til I found out I was just in Nebraska".

CHA-CHING!
