Game On
Not having followed the Tampa Bay Rays all season, I was a bit confused with their fuzzy new math of 9=8.
It's been explained to me that their manager Jerry Crawford---err Joe Maddon meant that 9 players playing hard for 9 innings would garner one of the eight playoff spots.
Except, the Rays could only qualify for one of four American League playoff spots and the scientific community is united in that fact.
The other four allocated playoff spots were for National League teams only.
Therefore 9 really equals 4!
That's the kind of thinking that got my high school football coach pissed at me.
Coach had given us the "there is no I in team" speech and I had to let him know there is a "ME".
I look for the Rays to take Game 3 tonight.

"There is no I in Team. There is no YOU either."
Overheard when someone was fired.
