Needed A Lioness

It must be extremely horrifying for the one time University of Iowa student to be first sexually assaulted by two former Hawkeye football players and now assaulted again by the Johnson County Attorney's office.

County Attorney Janet Lyness, has seemingly fumbled this case from the beginning.

First, it took over seven months after the assault to issue arrest warrants on the two former players who at that time had left the state.

Now, she's agreed to a plea deal for one former player (Abe Satterfield), that will probably see him receive a suspended sentence with no terms of probation and will be subject to the minimum fine of $625.

The ASSistant County Attorney said she expects Satterfield to be sentenced to the two days in jail already served and the minimum fine.

The punishment needs to be much more severe, I sure hope there's a judge in Johnson County that wants to see justice.

Oh, and he's going to testify against his co-defendant, but don't hold your breath because Satterfield was the original attacker.

Satterfield forced himself upon her, despite her protests, according to documents.

Court documents allege that (Co-Defendant Cedric) Everson entered the room using a second key, switched places with Satterfield and sexually assaulted the woman.

Police said the woman had no knowledge she was allegedly assaulted by a second man until they told her weeks later.

Sounds like a good defense attorney could blow holes in this case and their star(?)witness.

Lyness, a Dummycrat, is completing her first term and is, so far, unopposed for re-election bid this fall.
