I'm not sure why the Ragister calls their place for candidates to speak at the fair a soapbox when they stand on the grass.

Grassroots give and take would be better and the scientific community is united in that fact.

CONgressman Bruce Braley used his time to defend the health care bill.

He is then quoted as saying -- “If you don’t eat your way through the midway, you just aren’t experiencing the Iowa State Fair.”

This is a guy who brags about the over $700 Million in spending he's supported with tax dollars to invest in nutrition.

It has been a few years since I've "experienced" the Iowa State Fair, but I recall rides on the midway -- not foodstands.
