Bike?

I'm somewhat confused by this Business Record story

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) will offer free rides to bicyclists from May 16 through 20, in recognition of Bike to Work Week.

That seems to defeat the purpose of biking to work and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Given the history of DART and its buses over the last few years, this may not be the best idea.
