The beautiful minds that are the Des Moines Register editorial board have never met a tax they didn't like and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Disappointing decision on the gas tax

They're not happy that Governor Branstad has removed raising the gas tax as an option for the next legislative session.

Instead, Branstad will ask the Iowa Department of Transportation to find $50 million in savings to apply to road projects.

That's exactly what I want as a taxpayer, show me you can spend my money more efficiently and wisely before you come taking more.
