Don't Believe the Hype

NBC ran promo's over several days to spur viewers to tune into last night's Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The theme of the promo was Ann Coulter would be on with George Carlin. I didn't see the show, but reports are there were no fireworks. There were some funny lines:

As George Carlin moved down the couch, after his segment with Leno was over, he said "I never thought that when Ann Coulter came out, I would have to move to the right. But I did". The audience laughed.

Leno asked Coulter, "Have you ever had sex with a Liberal?" When Coulter replied, "No". Leno said, "Really? You should try it. See what it's like." Coulter responded, "I've read about it in Esquire."

Coulter was there because of her new book GODLESS and the controversy surrounding four 9/11 widows. Coulter says liberals are "obsessed" with one sentence of one chapter in the book where she discussed the widows using the deaths of their husbands to push a political cause. They backed John Kerry for President in 2004.

From GODLESS..."These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much."

Leno questioned, "Is the point of the book to move forth your conservative ideas - what you think- or is it to sell books?" Coulter's response received loud audience applause, "It is to make a point, and now that it is the Number 1 book in the country, I think that point will be made. The funny thing about this is I'm calling liberals Godless. Oh, they're cool with that. Just don't attack the Jersey Girls."
