Gannettoid and Ragister Publisher Mary Stier is taking to the stage as part of the "Smart Talk" Women's lecture series that is generously sponsored by the Ragister.

The series is usually reserved for more famous fiberal women, but there was such a large public outcry for Stier to stand up and speak out...

Stier said strangers would stop her in the frozen food aisle at Hy-Vee or elsewhere around the metro area.

"They'd say, 'We think that an Iowa woman should speak, and we think you should be the first one,' " she said. "And they'd say, 'We know you, but we don't know you. We want to know you.' "

Yeah Sure!

Stier is set to share about a life changing moment.

Judging from the pictures its her different looks over the years.

Stier will also share other thoughts, all captured in a "a sleek black moleskin booklet".

She might touch on the trials of becoming a publisher at age 30 - "I scraped my knees...".
