Helping the cause?

Earth Day, like Al Gore, has expanded and the scientific community is united in that fact.

For more than a week various organizations have been putting on Earth Day activities.

I suppose driving to them over the course of a week is better ecologically than driving to all in one day.

I love the irony of the Register photograph, by Bill Neibergall, that shows a woman making a sign for Gore-BULL warming wearing a coat.

Also that this festival on Saturday was sparsely attended (160 people) because of poor weather conditions.

Read that as Fargin' Cold!

Sunday in Central Iowa started cloudy and cool, but the sun did eventually shine on Earth Day in the Junction.

This time 70 celebrants, as pictured in the Register photo by Justin Hayworth, drove a 25 mile course to show how much they love the Earth!

It was in hybrid-vehicles, such as the Toyota Prius, but the last time I checked they do utilize an internal combustion engine that requires fossil fuel.

With friends like this, the Earth doesn't need enemies.
