Holiday?

I, and most of Central Iowa, missed(?) yesterday's celebration of International Women’s Day.

...about 50 people listened to a panel of five speakers and enjoyed various types of international music

Apparently it's a big deal in places like China, Russia, Vietnam and other purveyors of Communism and Socialism.

When I think of economic, political and social achievements of women those are the countries that leap immediately into my mind and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Mira Yusef, executive director of the organizing committee, said she believes the holiday hasn’t been fully recognized by the United States because of its “leftist” and “progressive” themes.

You Think?!

This year's theme...Women’s Work is Never Done

For some reason I'm reminded of lines from the movie D.C. Cab
