Godspeed

In spite of her mother, Ragister publisher Laura Hollingsworth, it's nice to see that her daughter (Kayla) seems to have turned out okay.

Kayla joined the Iowa National Guard at 18 because she wanted to serve the country before she served herself. She felt compelled to be part of "something bigger," something important.

Having spent her professional life in the newspaper industry, with Gannett, Hollingsworth had a hard time with this.

Why would she want to do that?

It's not usually until much later in life that we become our parents parent, but at 20 Kayla comes across as more mature than her mother and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Hollingsworth's daughter has now begun the process of deployment to Afghanistan.

The Liter will include her in our thoughts, as we do all those who protect this Country, and look forward to her safe return.
