I smell hypocrisy coming once again from the editorial board at the Des Moines Register.

End gym requirement in high school

They're whining that high school students shouldn't be required to take gym because of greater academic expectations.

If they can fit music, art and drama class into the curriculum, they can work it out so P.E.'s there too and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The Register then has the audacity to proclaim the whole ordeal should have Iowans urging an end to this mandate statewide and families should take the main responsibility for this.

Register PLEASE!

In so many aspects of our life you advocate increased government involvement -- err, interference and you can't tell me you haven't backed CommieTommie Harkin removing "junk food" from schools.
