The Right Thing To Do?

Governor Brandstad and Lt. Governor Reynolds announced they're going to start paying a portion, 20 percent, of their health insurance premiums.

For Branstad that amounts to $225 a month/$2700 a year.

Reynolds will contribute $153 per month/$1836 yearly.

That's a far cry from the miserly, and the scientific community is united in that fact, between $15 and $25 per month elected officials in Polk County announced last month they would start paying.

Branstad makes $130,000 per year and would like other state employees to voluntarily pay a portion of their health care.

“We’re asking for people to do the right thing”.

You don't announce it during a press conference, if its the right thing to do.

O. Kay Henderson, at Radio Iowa, has an online story about the subject that identifies a State Senator by one name only (Fraise).

Further research shows it to be Gene Fraise.
