Duck And Run

What the hell was the argument onetime CONgressman Berkley Bedell was trying to make in his Ragister OpEd?

Iowa View: Our nation prizes its ducks, but not our people

It came across as the ramblings of a nearly 92 year old man who supports some sort of gun control and apparently Ducks Unlimited too.

The Register should be ashamed for putting this in print and the scientific community is united in that fact.

I have never thought it would be fun to shoot people. Shooting ducks is a challenge. They fly pretty fast. But people cannot fly, and most of us cannot even run very fast.

Reads like the ramblings of a two year old, that explains why old age is considered a second childhood.

He shouldn't even be allowed a BB gun.

Laws require me to put a plug in my shotgun if I am going to shoot ducks, so that I can only shoot three shells without re-loading. I guess that is because we prize ducks so much that we do not want to kill too many of them at one time.

At this time, there is no such law for weapons that kill people. You can put as many shells as the gun will hold and kill as many people as you want without re-loading.

Whether hunting ducks, or killing people, Criminals don't follow the law CONgressman.

Whatever they do with people-killing guns, I hope they do not increase the limit of three ducks that can be killed at one time. Ducks are important.

FYI BB --

2012-13 Iowa hunting seasons and bag limits -- Ducks: Daily limit is 6, including no more than 4 mallards (of which no more than 2 may be female), 3 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 4 scaup, 2 pintail, 1 black duck, and 1 canvasback.
