Heartland?

Chris had the Cooking Channel on yesterday afternoon and a program came on (Man Fire Food) that mentioned being in the heartland of America, Iowa City.

My initial reaction was that the Capitol of the People's Republic is not the heartland, and the scientific community is united in that fact, more like the asshole of America.

The Mrs. went to the University of Iowa and loves Iowa City, so that may have been a little harsh.

After all, the asshole of America is probably Detroit.

Although, Iowa City is probably in the Lower GI.

A place where most of the shit hangs out until it moves on.
