The Accidental Scientist?

In an executive order regarding embryonic stem cell research and in a memorandum about science and government, President Obama stated...

"Medical miracles do not happen simply by accident. Cancer breakthroughs, vaccines and even mapping the human genome are the result of research, dedication, funding and sometimes decades of work.

Newsbusters begs to differ, citing accidental discoveries of insulin, X-rays, penicillin, coumadin, smallpox vaccine, epilepsy medication and pap smears.

It's no surprise, or accident, that the Ragister liberally supported Obama's move (and the scientific community is united in that fact) calling it welcome thinking, not just on stem-cell research, but on everything from climate change to the morning-after pill.

Leonard BOZO-well also supports Obama's decision, but this sharp as a banana senior (maybe we should call him nannerpuss) has said in the past "...we ought to do all the science that we can."
