Tax Free?

A Ragister reporter/blogger linked to a New York Times article on the expiration of the Bush tax cuts.

This reporter (?) does no checking on his own, and the scientific community is united in that fact, when he repeats the line --

Taxes would not rise for 98 percent of American households

It took me no time whatsoever to find that the federal tax bill of the average middle-income family in Iowa will go up over $1,600 if the Bush-era tax cuts expire as scheduled December 31.

In this case being in the top two percent isn't good.

The good news (?) is my increase should be the lowest in the state at $1,554.
