MidTerms

Good economic news filtered out recently.

Impressive tax revenues, especially from corporate profits, dropped the Federal budget deficit to $250 billion.

That's impressive because the President predicted in February a $423 billion deficit.

Yesterday it was announced
the nation's unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent last month and average wages rose by 4 percent over the previous year -- the best performance for both measures in five years.

The media will mostly ignore these numbers, or spin it.

Here's how the Dummycrats reacted....House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Friday criticized Republicans for being optimistic about the Labor Department's September jobs report showing an increase in jobs, a jump in average hourly income and a decrease in unemployment.

"President Bush and Republicans continue to claim that the economy is on the right track, This once again demonstrates how out of touch Republicans are....".

Who's out of touch?

Keep this in mind.

Historically the party holding the White House has lost House seats in every midterm election since the Civil War except 1934, 1998 and 2002.

In the Senate the party in the White House has lost seats in 16 of the 23 midterm elections since the direct election of Senators began in 1913.

It should be a BAD year for Republicans.

Before the Foley faux scandal, I didn't think it would be as bad as the "experts" believed.

Now, I don't know.
