Things

I've been attending contested caucuses since 1988 and this is only the second time a candidate I voted for (Mitt Romney) won the evening, George W. Bush was the other in 2000.

Thankfully, just like the candidate himself, a majority of Iowans can't really see Ron Paul in the Oval Office either.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Here's more proof (Crazy) that Paul and his Ronnettes are this years Obama-maniacs.

Ron Paul said this morning that a large number of young people and Independent voters supported him in Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses, proving his campaign can go the distance.

Remember, Youth is wasted on the young, or more accurately -- Youth is a wonderful thing. What a crime to waste it on children.

As for Obama, was that his Hawaiian golf tan he was sporting?

Or, was it just one of the technical glitches courtesy of his exclusive web tool?

That's selling him short, he's an exclusive tool beyond the web.

Could be why his supporters had a distinct lack of support for him last night, there was no cheering, chanting or clapping for the president's message during the address.

In other TOOL news --

Des Moines police have spent about $75,000 dealing with Occupy Des Moines related protests since the movement started at the beginning of October.

Des Moines-area authorities have made more than 100 Occupy-related arrests since October. Des Moines police were responsible for 35 of those arrests, with at least 27 coming in the last week as part of the group’s caucus protests.

The $75,000 includes only Des Moines police and does not count money spent by Ankeny, Clive, Urbandale and West Des Moines police, or the Iowa State Patrol, all of whom have also made Occupy-related arrests.

Not sure if that includes the previous $10,000 figure that was reported.

Just like the word, Occupy jumped the shark in 2011 and needs banishment.

Youth is wasted on the young

Thumbing through the Ragister today, I glanced at the bottom and found them hyping one of their socialist bloggers.

Eighth year University of Iowa Senior David Goodner, 26, is bragging about the role young people are playing in the peace movement.

Goodner cites an Associated Press article about a protest against corporate devil Haliburton (once led by Darth Cheney) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The only quote from the protesters is a 37 year old!

Youth is a wonderful thing. What a crime to waste it on children--George Bernard Shaw

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

That Dangerous Age

James Q. Lynch calls this a good week for Tyler Olson.

Making this a "good week" was a meet-and-greet campaign event Thursday in Coralville that drew 40-some people were closer to the 37-year-old Cedar Rapids businessman’s age than to that of his 60-something potential opponents.

Forty 40 and under folks seems sort of sad for the People's Republic, where there's a plethora of both youth and 60 somethings (aka Hippies) and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Tyler, who's been a part of the problem for the past 8 years, seems to have a specific problem respecting his elders.

Olson's also at the age where they think they know everything.

Remember, Youth is wasted on the young, or more accurately -- Youth is a wonderful thing. What a crime to waste it on children.
