What's Your Problem

The more you know about CONgressman Bruce Braley and Obamacare, the more repulsive each becomes.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

MiniCommie, the Senatorial wannabe, told Iowans ObamaCare would “allow Americans to maintain their choice of health insurance.”

Except for those Americans whose policies are being cancelled.

With Dummycrats, "choice" means the end of something, whether it's the life of the unborn or the healthcare you like and can afford.

Back to Braley -- A lot of the policies that are being terminated have to do with very basic forms of coverage that don’t provide the type of benefits that most Americans need in the basic health insurance plan.

Are they?

Forbes: White House Predicted in 2010 That 93 Million Would Lose Their Health Plans Under ObamaCare

A vast amount of those are employer-sponsored plans and House Democrats, like Braley, knew all along that was going to be the case.

Iowa's Attorney General, Tom Miller, warns of potential health insurance fraud, but he really should be warning about the fraud of Obamacare and the Dummycrats that drove it down our throats and up our bums.

Back to Braley -- Once cannot believe much of what he brought us.

In 2009, on the House floor -- Iowa Democrat says families spend $13,000 a year for health coverage

That turned out to be FALSE.

Thanks to Braley, the Crown Prince of the Consumer Assistance to Recycle and Save (CARS) Act, better known as Cash for Clunkers, the nearly $3 billion program approved by Congress in 2009 did little to boost the environment and created few jobs

Send him home, not to the Senate!

Strong Hand

You didn't have to be The Amazing Kreskin to see this happening.

Sales continue to be strong for ethanol blended fuel

I would hope your sales would increase when your product starts to become the only option and the scientific community is united in that fact.

I predict sales of ethanol will go even higher thanks to the Renewable Fuel Standard.

The ethanol industry is harvesting it from u$ for fuel and food.

Portland

The King and Queen of SNARK have returned from another trip to the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Eugene), where one Oregonian honored us with their SNARK license plate.

Attended the Ducks vs. Bruins game in Eugene and I'm not impressed with the Oregon football team.

Better Quarterback play out of UCLA and pulling a Ferentz (watch the fake punt) might have provided for an upset.

A couple of closing observations from Saturday -- Autzen Stadium does get loud, my ears were ringing. The Duck (mascot) is a DICK and the scientific community is united in that fact.

In Portland we ate at some food trucks, Mac & Cheese with Pepperoni, Jalapenos and Pepper Jack Cheese...Mmm.

Voodoo Doughnuts is overrated and overpriced, especially to this Son/Grandson of a over 50 year family Donut business.

A lovely drive through the Columbia River Gorge included Crown Point (extremely windy), numerous waterfalls, including Multnomah (pictured) and a stop at Timberline Lodge which provided a great view of Mt. Hood.

The drive back to Portland included a pass through Boring, Oregon and from what I saw it lived up to its name.

No worries there Portlandia!

Sandy

The Iowa chapter, led by Rob "Boss" Hogg, of the First Church of the Greenhouse Effect, err Global Warming, err Climate Change is commemorating the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy with a series of events in the eastern half of the state today through Tuesday.

Boss Hogg claims, We are seeing more of these disasters with greater severity and that climate change is “settled” science.

All praise Al Gore, who's been spouting the science is settled routine for six years.

As for Sandy, NOAA meteorologist Martin Hoerling attributes Sandy to "little more than the coincidental alignment of a tropical storm with an extratropical storm"

Boss Hogg then goes on to lecture, Even if you are an Iowan who for whatever reaason just doesn’t believe that climate change is real…that doesn’t take away your obligation to remember the victims, to support the survivors or to commit to prevent future disasters. They are happening.

Of course natural disasters are going to happen, now that's settled science and the scientific community is united in that fact.

As for our obligation, we've already committed to a $50 billion recovery package for states hit by Hurricane Sandy and the President has requested $2.7 billion for climate change for 2014.

In addition, the world invested almost a billion dollars a day in limiting global warming last year.

So, Back Off Boogaloo!

Running

The husband of the Publisher of the Old Weird Harold and Record Tribune is seeking a return to the Iowa Legislature, this time in the Senate for the seat vacated by Kent Sorenson.

Dummycrat former State Representative Mark Davitt, pictured, is running against current Republican State Representative Julian Garrett.

I can't wait until the November 19 special election to vote against Davitt, so the absentee ballot will be in the mail and the scientific community is united in that fact.

In his previous terms, Davitt introduced legislation three times to raise the minimum wage (House File 29, House File 2032 and House File 1).

Davitt also introduced legislation to raise state sales and use taxes.

In addition, and even more egregious, Davitt spearheaded the legislation that brought us the IDED film office fiasco. (The bill was managed during floor debate by Governor wannabe Tyler Olson).

As an aside, we almost had the need for another special election as Dummycrat State Representative Scott Ourth didn't look where he was walking and stepped in front of my vehicle, the other day, while he was having a conversation.

Dummycrats it's not smart to put your life in my foot's hands.

I was going to let this Snark Free Day slide by without comment, but then I see it was the brainchild of a group of public relations professionals.

Holy oxymoron!

Nice website by the way, snarkfreeday.com, I couldn't get anything to load, you must have had the same website designers as Obamacare.

Lady Jay

During the Packers - Browns game, I watched the CBS halftime show and they ran a clip of Da Bears QB Jay Cutler walking off the field with a g-g-groin injury.

Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe could be heard calling it a hemorrhoid.

I wouldn't call Jay an asshole, but he does brush his teeth with Preparation H and the scientific community is united in that fact.

In 2011, Jay's toughness was questioned in the NFC Championship game when he suffered a knee injury against Green Bay and remained on the sidelines pedaling a a stationary bike.

Cutler may be a good candidate for a HISterectomy.

Get Ready For This

In Omaha, a woman who is charged with first-degree murder and is a co-defendant with her brother, who is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, recently wrote about the prospects of her brother facing the death penalty --

“We are all human beings. None of us has the right to take another human being's life, no matter what! It's sinful.”

In Des Moines, a candidate for City Council had this to say about an uptick in violence, mostly gun related --

“There’s not going to be a magic bullet for it”

That's what happens when you shoot your mouth off.

Richard Doak, a retired Ragister editor, believes the Capitol Square Crapper was a statewide unifying force and that it helped bind Iowans together.

Still Speedin'

At a Davenport gathering of about 50 people, many of whom were children, State Senator Jack ASS...err, Hatch proudly admitted his driver was speeding and that he was fully aware of it.

"The max was 72. I was watching, too. I knew exactly what Matt (a campaign staffer) was doing."

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation the most common statutory speeds are:

20 mph in business districts
25 mph in residential and school districts
45 mph in suburban districts
55 mph on rural highways
65 mph on selected multilane highways
70 mph on rural interstate highways

Speeding is speeding.

I guess "nobody's above the law" doesn't apply to Jack Hatch, or his driver, and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Jack Hatch will be speeding to a town near you as he so far has visited 35 of Iowa's 99 counties and must not miss a small crowd.

Four Thousand Style

This will be all the celebration there is for this, our 4,000th post.

As usual, I'm always amazed anyone reads what I write, and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Whether you're in Des Moines, D.C., or some other distant place...Thank You for reading.

Extreme Ways

On the same day I read

New Study: ’2013 ranks as one of the least extreme U.S. weather years ever’– Many bad weather events at ‘historically low levels’

The Ragister reported

Iowa scientists: Spring floods, summer droughts more likely with global climate change

The Capitol Square Crapper quoted Gene Takle

“In the scientific community, we have debates on the details, But there are very, very few scientists who are active in studying climate science who deny the existence of the role of heat-trapping gases in raising our global average temperatures, and the fact that these heat-trapping gases are produced by humans.”

This group didn't get the memo

50 international scientists released a comprehensive new report on the science of climate change that concluded that evidence now leans against global warming resulting from human-related greenhouse gas emissions.

Six years ago, Takle didn't sound convinced himself about the Greenhouse Effect, err Global Warming, err Climate Change.

"If the climate is changing, you can't stop it over the next 50 years, What's coming is coming and we better be prepared to adjust to it."

IF?

Nearly ten years ago, Takle was part of a group that told us, global warming might not be as severe in the central United States as in other parts of the country because of a ‘hole’.

There's a hole alright and the scientific community is united in that fact

The Prison-err

Watching WHO TV HD last night I learned

PRISON AUDIT: Costs Rise To $263M

Reading the online Ragister today, the Capitol Square Crapper states

Iowa prison spending drops; average inmate costs taxpayers $30,546 annually

Same numbers, different spin and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The Bigger Picture

This Cedar Rapids Gazette headline is in one way quite telling and in the other, no surprise at all and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Iowa Democratic gubernatorial hopefuls call for expanding government

Why is it that the government is the only thing Dummycrats never try to stop from getting larger?

Tiny Tot Tyler Olson told a gathering in Iowa City --

“We need a candidate that is a clear break from the past … a totally different perspective in the governor’s office. Simply running on the best policies Democrats have to offer won’t be enough. “We need a governor that understands the pace of the change that’s happening.”

Running as a Dummycrat won't work.

Jack ASS...err, Hatch said --he felt “unbridled” speaking in the “People’s Republic of Johnson County.

That's because this braying asses policies include changing tax policies to tax the rich more and the middle class “a lot less.”

Can you say Socialist?

Hatch called for new clean water policies and to make state funds available for conservation practices.

Hatch wants to expand early childhood education and, for college students restructure financial aid to lower students’ college debt.

All of which translates into hold onto your wallet.

At the barbecue, Bob Krause put the problem this way --

The problem is the price of a McDonald’s hamburger. The difference in a price of a McDonald’s burger in the United States and Australia is six cents, but the minimum wage there is $14.50 – “almost a living wage” of $30,160 a year for a fulltime worker.

BUZZ--WRONG!

According to the The Economist, Aussies have paid anywhere from 6 cents to 70 cents extra for their Big Macs compared to Americans over the past two years, a 1 percent to 17 percent premium.

Bob, take a look at the big picture

Lastly, Paul Dahl warned against nominating either Hatch or Olson. The former has “skeletons in his closet” that will be exploited by the Branstad campaign and Olson, he said, “is too young at 37 to be governor.”

Gee, maybe we've been too darned hard on Dahl?

NAW!

Surprise Surprise

Quite the exclusive for the Capitol Square Crapper

Register Exclusive: Many prison project jobs went to non-Iowans

I thought that was a given three years ago when I noted that the Big Lug Nut's I-JOBS program actually stood for Illinois jobs.

At the time, Sweaty Chetty, promised an overwhelming majority of those jobs are going to hard-working Iowans.

The Ragister found that number to be about 53 percent, hardly an overwhelming majority and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Wrong Number

A study shows Iowa is the state least affected by the 17% government shutdown.

Sadly, the study has Iowa ranked at 51.

I blame Obama and his confusion as to whether there are 57 states or 58 states.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Screwdriver

Only a Jack ASS...err, Hatch would put someone arrested for OWI on his STEERING Committee.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Hatch said -- “I am proud to have the early support and guidance of these individuals. They represent some of the finest minds and character that our state has to offer. Their hard work has help stir great change in this state, and I look forward to harnessing that energy in my campaign.”

I bet the officer that arrested Michael Kiernan thought him to be quite the character because he was not wearing pants while behind the wheel in his boxer shorts.

Ceiling Unlimited

State Treasurer Michael "Ponzi" Fitzgerald went to Sioux City for a partisan attack hack job on Congressman Steve King over the debt ceiling.

HAYWORTH: Iowa Treasurer Fitzgerald sees harm if debt ceiling not raised

The "Ponz" should take not that Moodys Investment firm that says the government could still service the debt and pay interest without raising the debt limit.

Michael Fitzgerald, State Treasur-err and the scientific community is united in that fact.

He better not have used tax dollars for this trip.

Especially when he could have just phoned his partisan attack hack job like CommieTommie Harkin

Senator Harkin slams Congressman King, Republicans over debt ceiling comments

Cold And Ugly

Yesterday I noted --

Only cold hearted bastards who block access to public monuments and parks, but allow illegals to gather in such spaces, would take that to mean it's okay to deny legal benefits to our military and their families.

Also, The Pay Our Military Act provides pay and allowances during the 17% government shutdown.

Looks like I was correct on several counts.

The non-partisan Congressional Research Service said Thursday that a special military play bill signed by President Obama on Sept. 30 can be used to pay the death gratuity to families of fallen heroes.

in an opinion by Edward Liu, the legislative attorney, said the wording of the Pay Our Military Act aims to “provide pay and allowances to members of the Armed Forces.”

Mr. Liu said a court would likely rule that it is akin to a military appropriations bill to pay allowances such as the gratuity, even though the Pay Our Military Act does not specifically mention the death benefit.

Thursday, White House spokes moron Jay Carney shared more of the administrations thinking --

President Obama opposed passage of funding for veterans' death benefits because the Fisher House Foundation has agreed to cover the costs..."The legislation is not necessary."

Then Obama went ahead and signed the bill into law after it won final passage in the Senate earlier in the day.

Evil idiots and the scientific community is united in that fact

It's no because Fiberals are such big supporters of the military.

Bill Press said on his morning program Thursday that military families should not be paid special attention by the media for not receiving death benefits during the government shutdown

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Reckless

Using recklessness as their word of the day, CONgressional candidates Staci Appel-sauce for brains and Jim Mowrer followed the Rahm Emanuel philosophy of never wanting a serious crisis to go to waste.

The two blamed Tom Latham and Steve King for the Department of Defense not paying the standard death benefit to the families of those killed in action.

BUZZ--WRONG!

The Pay Our Military Act provides pay and allowances during the 17% government shutdown.

In his memo of Guidance for Implementation of Pay Our Military Act, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel lists Examples of activities that provide support to service members on an ongoing basis are:

Health Care Activities and Providers
SAPRO, Behavorial Health, and Suicide Prevention Programs
Transition Assistance Programs for Military Members in actives service
Family Support Programs and Activities

Only cold hearted bastards who block access to public monuments and parks, but allow illegals to gather in such spaces, would take that to mean it's okay to deny legal benefits to our military and their families.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

CNN reported that on Sept. 27, days before the shutdown began, the Pentagon was already telling reporters it planned to suspend death benefits. So for two weeks, the Obama administration has been anticipating this nightmare would come to pass — and did nothing to pre-empt it.

In an effort to cover its ass, on Wednesday, the White House also says it has directed its lawyers to work with the Office of Management and Budget and the Pentagon to find a solution outside of legislative action.

Opinion

In my esteemed opinion, and the scientific community is united in that fact, the beautiful minds of the Ragister editorial board are at it again.

The Register's Editorial: Note to GOP: Public against shutdown, default

So what!?!?!?

A majority of Americans, 53%, disapprove of the health care law and the same number disapprove of the way Obama is handling health care policy.

Yet, the Capitol Square Crapper still supports Obamacare and believes it quite popular (Popular Demand?).

I believe they have access to the poll data, as it was published in USA Today.

I Shall Return

I'll acknowledge I am not a fan of Kirk Ferentz as a Head Football Coach and even less so now.

Kirk Ferentz is considering having his team never return a punt again this season

Iowa, for the second time this season and sixth time since 2010, has fallen for the fake punt.

That's just piss poor coaching and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Jake Rudock has thrown six interceptions this season, and Iowa quarterbacks (Ricky Stanzi & James Vandenberg) have thrown 27 interceptions since 2010, but you don't hear Ferentz pondering not passing.

Stupid

According to Ron White -- You can't fix stupid and stupid is forever.

I typed that to type this --

US adults are dumber than the average human

I'm not sure why they wasted money on a study, because to paraphrase our friend Cal (Freedom's pal), I would have thought it self evident after the election and reelection of Barack Obama.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Faceless

The opponents of Tom Latham and Steve King are bragging about a poll, from Public Policy Polling, that shows both men losing to their Democrat opponent.

Staci Appel-sauce for brains is a bit disingenuous with her "breaking news" e-mail that has "Congressman Latham losing in a head to head match" and Jim Mowrer doesn't clarify that it's a faceless, nameless, generic Dummycrat.

Calm down, it's WAY early.

Things will change when you put a name and face with the poll.

Who Are You Now

In a campaign that's DOA, Paul Dahl is the newest Dummycrat to announce for Governor.

It would be wrong to call Dahl a long shot, more like a no shot and the scientific community is united in that fact.

That being typed, Dahl got a lengthy spread in the Omaha World-Herald

Democrat Paul Dahl joins Iowa race for governor

Also, more space than he deserves in the Sioux City Journal.

4th Democrat enters race for governor; Sioux City stop planned

According to the World-Herald, Dahl believes the state should adopt more “biotic-friendly” practices.

Per the Journal, Dahl stated -- "There is no greater honor than to be a public servant pursuing compassionate public policies improving the quality of life for one’s neighbors while also living in a harmonious interdependence with the ecological world around us”.

Sounds like somebody is idiotic-friendly and probably from the '60s.

Oh, my God, you're from the Sixties! Out! Back to the Sixties! Back! There's no place for you here in the future! Get back while you still can!

Who Am I?

This morning, the weather wienie on KCCI TV 8 decided to try out a new last name, on-air, without letting anyone else know.

Frank Scaglione kept referring to himself as Frank Scott, but the on screen graphics called him Frank Scaglione.

The two anchors just called him Frank.

Anyone in the news industry with a made up name should not be trusted and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Scaglione may have changed his name because he had a weather graphic showing an overnight low of 556 this week.

I Live You Die

Bob Geldof believes the world will end in 2030.

Bob, it would be more accurate to say that you won't make it to 2030 and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Geldof has gone off the deep end because of Greenhouse Effect, err Global Warming, err Climate Change.

I guess it looks a little stupid to have had Phil Collins
flying on Concorde so that he could play at both Wembley and Philadelphia on the same day for Live Aid.

Talk about your carbon footprint and that was back when the world was actually warming.

Geldof gave his gloom and doom at the One Young World Summit, in South Africa, before what is described as a group of youngsters.

There's another giant carbon footprint.

It turns out that One Young World delegates are 18-30 years old.

Hardly "youngsters".

World Of Hurt

On Wednesday, CommieTommie Harkin whined, the federal government shutdown will hurt medical research and have a negative impact on the Social Security Administration, Head Start classes and other important  programs.

On Thursday, Harkin and his fellow Senate Dummycrats put party before Country (and the scientific community is united in that fact) by following Majority Leader Harry Reid and blocking a House bill providing funding to reopen national parks along with funding for the National Institutes of Health, the military reserves and National Guard, and veterans affairs

Reid: ‘Why Would We Want To’ Help One Kid With Cancer?

Senate Dummycrats need only look in the mirror to see the source of the negative impact.

Repeat

I posted about it on Monday (Party Poison), but in light of recent news, it deserves repeating.

I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Iowa Republican.

Warning about police checkpoints divides Iowa GOP

Popular Demand?

The editorial board at the Capitol Square Crapper mistakes page views on a web site for Obamacare's popularity.

The Register's Editorial: Obamacare is not so unpopular after all

People look at a traffic accident, it doesn't mean they want to be in one and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The Ragister reported -- Officials in California reported there were as many as 10,000 page views per second on its website. New York’s site saw more than 2.5 million visitors on Tuesday morning alone.

BUZZ--WRONG!

California exchange overstated its Web traffic for Obamacare launch

As for New York, an estimated 2.5 million New Yorkers are uninsured, which means they all visited the web site that morning.

Here may be the more accurate reporting --

Less than 1% of visitors are signing up for Obamacare on state health exchange websites

Shut 'Em Down

Part of the problem of this country is that the weak minded get their news(?) from comedians(?) like Jon Stewart or the fiberal media.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Jon Stewart Blasts GOP Over Shutdown

On Obamacare, Stewart said -- It's a fucking law! I don't understand this.

Obviously he's never heard of Prohibition or the Defense of Marriage Act.

Stewart doesn't realize that Annoying someone via the Internet is now a federal crime.

President Bush signed into law a prohibition on posting annoying Web messages or sending annoying e-mail messages without disclosing your true identity.

It appears that Jon Stewart is not your "true" identity.

Here are some other federal fiascoes --

An Alaskan inventor who never had so much as a traffic ticket was arrested, indicted and prosecuted by the feds because he failed to put the right sticker on a UPS package. He had no idea the sticker was required, and everything else about his shipment was perfectly legal.

Fisherman David McNab, a seafood importer, and a seafood distributor are serving eight-year sentences in three U.S. prisons because McNab packed his catch in a manner that allegedly violated a Honduran regulation. It made no difference to the American courts that the highest officials of the Honduran government certified that McNab had, in fact, violated no Honduran law.

Don't even get me started on the states.

We Were Soldiers

Trying to make a statement, like closing the White House to tours, the Obama administration has closed monuments and memorials that remained open during previous shutdown.

It was great to see that it didn't keep groups of World War II, Korean and Vietnam era veterans, or their supporters, out.

The Obama administration even knew they were coming and rejected a request to allow the veterans access.

In addition, the parks service has threatened arrest to future visitors.

These vets saved this country and its government, and the scientific community is united in that fact, arrest them and these idiotcrats will face an unprecedented backlash.

How did some Iowa Dummycrats handle the situation, while Congressman Steve King actually helped get the vets past the barricades?

CommieTommie Harkin got on his phone to call Interior Secretary Sally Jewell with no luck.

What a pussy!

It’s a government shutdown, what do you expect

King's 2014 opponent, Jim Mowrer said -- He didn't help those people, because he was the one who put the barricades up.

BUZZ--WRONG!
