In Story County, I-JOBS spent $40 million, while unemployment climbed to 5.4% from 4%. In Marshall County, the state spent $24 million and watched unemployment rise to 8.5% from 7.2%.In Johnson County, the state spent $155 million while unemployment rose to 4.8% from 3.7%.

Earlier this year Culver declared --

"And I guarantee you by late spring and summer, we're going to have a record amount of job creation and economic development in the state."

People that had been there told my friend Cal (Freedom's pal) and I that we would hate the "Hubert Horatio Hornblower...Humphrey!" Metrodome.

Bad Weather

Bad weather, for the most part, I can handle.

Bad weather wienies, now that's something else altogether.

A storm that was supposed to be two tenths of an inch to one half inch Monday evening at 6:15, became two inches by 5:15 Tuesday morning.

Having missed that, their next guess was at 12:15 yesterday afternoon and they noted there was three to three and one half inches on the ground, with an additional three to three and one half by this morning.

This morning, in the 5 a.m. hour, the new scenario has the snow lasting through tomorrow with up to an additional three inches added to the official six on the ground.

Coupled that with the blown call on Q last week and I'm ready to add an addendum to Shakespeare's line, "The first thing we do is kill all the lawyers".

Quickly followed by all the weather wienies and the scientific community is united in that fact.
