The Fat Man

At first glance this looked like good news for the Big Lug Nut.

Chubby people live longest

When you read it you realize they're referring to slightly chubby people.

That leaves out this Papa who's Chubby and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Check out the caboose, no wonder he's such a fan of trains.

Maybe he could get into one of those programs that his Lt. Governor Fatty Judge rolls out every few months.

411 from Fatty

Iowa Homeland Security Tsarina/Leftenant Governor Fatty Judge (Where's she been, celebrating the Year of the PIG?) showed who has the brains in the administration when she corrected The Big Lug's flub about 911.

Monday was the first time the Ragister reported Chester's goof...

Culver urged those seeking relief from the cold to call 911 and local police and fire dispatchers will direct them to the nearest shelter or warming center.

Tuesday the Ragister reported...Culver said residents needing shelter or facing other emergencies should call 911, despite assertions from at one least one local official that the influx of calls was jamming phone lines.

The Ragister identified the local official as...Marshalltown Police Chief Lon Walker said that practice had clogged up the emergency line in his area. "Don't call 911 for emergency shelters," he said. "I don't know where that came from, but that's not the appropriate use of 911."

It seems The Lug wasn't the only loser who recommended 911...Gov. Chet Culver and Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management officials have recommended that people call 911 to locate nearby emergency shelters.

This really isn't an EMERGENCY either, makes one feel sooo secure!

Fatty finally came forward and said folks should call 211 for shelter information.

State 29 picked up on this tidbit...

Chet Culver: If You're Out Of Power, Visit Our Web Site

www.iowahomelandsecurity.org

A little over one month on the big(?) stage as Governor and Chester's flubs include a left hand swearing in ceremony, a new word LITERASLY, flooding Emergency 911 calls for information and urging folks to log onto a web site when they have no power.

It's going to be a long term!

No Sweat?

The Ragister's Iowa Ear mentioned the National Guard jacket Governor Big Lug Nut has been wearing lately.

They opined it gives him...

A place to hide Patty Judge.

FATTY Judge?

Hardly.

They listed a half a dozen or more reasons, including...

A sweat stain cover.

Could that be it?

We're SURE and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Hee Haw Redux

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw Chester & Fatty's latest commercial.

As part of their TOO FAT & UGLY TO BE ELECTED TOUR, they're standing at a fence with water coming down on them.

Fatty Judge makes fun of Nussle spending money on a "rain forest in Iowa".

I'm not a fan of tax dollars going for that boondoggle either, but I wouldn't be ticking off voters in communities like Riverside, Pella and a few others who actually sought to bring it to their areas...not too swift!

They end up again talking about their Iowa Values and Common Sense.

As a LIFE LONG Iowan, not being smart enough to come in out of the rain is NOT a IowaValue nor does it show Common Sense!!

Motley Crew

That was a pitiful performance the Big Lug Nut and Posse delivered last week in a feeble attempt to reassure Iowans their financial bumbling, fumbling, stumbling haven't put the state in purgatory.

Fatty Judge was in attendance, apparently the Capitol was on the Travel Iowa schedule for that day.

Speaking of which, how do you travel to Dyersville and not include the Field Of Dreams movie site on your schedule?

After all, "If you build it, he will come".

But, I digress.

Budget Director, and Super Nerd, Dick Oshlo was there.

Hey Dick, Ichabod Crane called and wants his look back and the scientific community is united in that fact!

How about trudging out State Treasurer Michael "Ponzi" Fitzgerald for comfort?

Ponzi's on the IPERS investment board that lost over $300 Million invested in funds managed by two New York brokers who have been arrested on federal criminal and civil charges in an alleged investment scam.

IPERS assets have also lost over $4 Billion in the last year and was already facing a long-term shortfall of about $2.7 billion.

This is a guy who can't find the Iowa Beverage Division during his Great Iowa Treasure Hunt!

The disparity over the state's budget boils down to the Legislative Services Agency estimate is based on year-to-date collections.

The BLN's estimate relies partly on money that has not yet been collected.

Literasly Tons of fun

Irony- When two of the heaviest people to lead state government (The Big Lug and Fatty Judge) have a commission on "Wellness and Healthy Living", telling Iowans how to improve their health, and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Chewing the fat

CommieTommie Harkin is criticizing the President's veto
of a Human Services bill the he authored.

President Bush said...

"This bill is 44 days late and nearly $10 billion over budget, and filled with more than 2,000 earmarks. "Some of its wasteful projects include a prison museum, a sailing school taught aboard a catamaran, and a "Portuguese as a second language" program."

He also said those earmarks totaled more than $1 Billion.

Harkin harps...

"...there is nothing frivolous about providing job retraining to workers laid off at Maytag..."

The Ragister reports...

Aides to Harkin said that there was not a specific amount of money in the vetoed bill for laid-off Maytag workers.

That certainly lacked a bit of truthiness and the scientific community is united in that fact!

Also...

A separate federal job retraining grant for Maytag workers, announced Tuesday by Harkin and Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Ia., would not be affected by the veto.

Here's what really makes CommieTommie cringe, $23 Million was coming to Iowa that included...

* $5 million for the Harkin School Grants-- you should only get to put your name on it if it comes directly from your pocket.

* $100,000 to educate parents about teen drug use-- it's nearly 2008 and parents should know drugs are bad, unless they're stoned.

* $300,000 for exhibits at the Des Moines Art Center--Why? Do they need more shop vacs?

* $150,000 for exhibits, multimedia collections and displays at the Italian-American Cultural Center of Iowa--I'm Italian and even I think that's fottuto.

* $100,000 for outreach to at-risk youth by Creative Visions in Des Moines--No money, I repeat NO MONEY should ever go to Creative Visions!

* $1.5 million statewide for wellness programs in communities that would promote walking trails, fruit and vegetable programs and physical fitness programs--like the ones supported by the Big Lug & Fatty Judge?

You make me sick

Dummycrat Lt. Goober Fatty Judge has named a five-member commission to make recommendations on policies the state could adopt to improve wellness and preventative health efforts.

First off they could recommend her picture in all eating areas, that'll surely spoil a few appetites and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The commission is headed by Dr. Selden Spencer, 2006 Dummycrat candidate for Congress who announced in December that he would be again running.

No politics being played here by the Dummycrats.
