I couldn't believe this letter I saw from Carol Bamford in the Ragister today...

I am troubled by the references in David Yepsen's column of July 29 to Barack Obama's "Kool-Aid" ("Hold Off on Swallowing Obama Inevitability").

The association of Kool-Aid with blacks has long been recognized as a racial slur.

Equally disturbing is the connection with the Jim Jones suicide cult whose members died from drinking poisoned Kool-Aid.

Is Yepsen suggesting that Obama, cult-like, is leading an unwary nation to its suicidal demise?

Even if these implications were inadvertent, Obama deserves more respect than that, as do Register readers.

Ms. Bamford has been in a sheltered environment of higher education(?) too long and the scientific community is united in that fact!

Drink Up

The Fiberal's are slurping up all they can of excerpts from Scott McClellan's book.

With that comes the mistaken notion of Kool-Aid consumed during his White House.

Not only is Scott McClellan a fraud so is the belief one shouldn't drink the Kool-Aid and the scientific community is united in that fact.

On this the forty eighth anniversary of his birth, wherever that was, there's a heavy cost for electing this joker and the scientific community is united in that fact.

$1 Trillion More in Debt Since Obama Took Office

It took the Bush administration over 2 ½ years for the National Debt to increase a trillion dollars.

Obama accomplished that in six months!

He wants to try and blame Bush for money that was in the pipeline, but the Dummycrats have had control of the nation's purse strings since January of 2007.








Out of control spending has Washington billing $33,932 per household in 2009--$8,000 per household more than last year.

That doesn't include the $1 Billion, maybe $3, in Cash for Clunkers, or the $1 Trillion cost of Obamacare.

Couple that with the fact that federal tax receipts are on pace to drop 18 percent this year, the biggest single-year decline since the Great Depression (1932), and you can see why the administration is planning to break its pledge not to raise taxes on 95 percent of Americans.





FYI: it wasn't Kool-Aid, but Flavor Aid they drank in Jonestown.

Foolly Informed

The editorial board of the Ragister ran a propaganda piece about how Iowan's can get involved in the health care debate.

One of the first things they say is to read the legislation.

"What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”--John Conyers (Dummycrat Michigan).

Lets' start with CONgress reading it and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Next the Ragister cites two nonprofit organizations, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Kaiser Family Foundation, as their information sources.

Nonprofit doesn't mean nonpartisan, Centrists.org refers to the Center on Budget and Policy as liberal.

I have concerns about a Kaiser Family Foundation's Board of Directors that includes Cokie Roberts and Donna Shalala.

The Ragister then shows its sucked down a few Flavor Aid's of the Dummycrats.

At some recent town-hall gatherings with lawmakers, individuals organized by certain powerful special interests have dominated the proceedings.

So powerful the Ragister is afraid to name them?

Blame should be heaped on an arrogant CONgress that doesn't listen and has burned through $1 Trillion just since Obama took office.

It's one of the reasons why I think people are pissed.

Lastly, the Ragister says polls show the vast majority of Americans support health-care reform.

Do they?

Drooping polls undercut scripted protest claims

A Quinnipiac poll showed a majority, 57 percent, said health care reform should be abandoned if it will "significantly" add to the deficit.

Mr. Obama has promised that any reform will not add to the budget imbalance, but 72 percent of the registered voters surveyed by Quinnipiac said they did not think Mr. Obama would be able to deliver on that vow.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll showed that 42 percent thought the current health care reforms were a bad idea, while 36 percent thought them a good idea.

A National Public Radio poll shows 47 percent opposition to the Obama health care reforms in Congress, with 42 percent support.

NPR!

It speaks volumes if NPR couldn't find a majority to support it.

President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Seriously?!?!

Yesterday we noted (No O Bel?) that it was thought he had been nominated but it's unclear on what grounds.

He won for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

Really?

Seriously?

The AP notes it as "stunning choice" and "that it shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline".

So he won not for what he did before the nomination deadline, but afterward?

It has to be what Lewis Black told Wolf Blitzer...

Wolf, his nipples are bursting with hope. He's the first man and the first president in my life who is lactating hope. He continues to lactate hope.

Not only is the committee drinking the Flavor Aid, it sucks too and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Once again, the Nobel Peace Prize has no relevance and meaning!

Queen Of Denial

With this Brain Trust it is easy to see why the DUH Moines Ragister continues to tank.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Publisher Laura Hollingsworth, with Editor Carolyn Washburn (center) and Editorial Page Editor Carol Hunter (right), has sipped the Gannett Flavor Aid for too long (19 years).

The paper's daily circulation fell 1.3 percent in its core market — Polk, Dallas, Warren and Story counties — in 2007, the latest figures available, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations. Sunday circulation dropped nearly 1 percent.

Cliché, not plagiarism, is the problem with today's pallid political discourse.
