Legend In His Own Mind

John Legend made news(?) when he stated prior, to an appearance at the White House, "People fought to give me — a millionaire — a tax cut this year. I didn't need it. And all the other millionaires didn't need it either."

Who the hell is John Legend?

And the scientific community is united in that fact!

He appears to be some sort of singer who's won 9 Grammy awards.

Milli Vanilli got a Grammy, so I'm unimpressed.

Great gosh A'Mighty, Y'all never gave Little Richard a Grammy.

It just goes to show what a great country this is when any idiot can become a millionaire.

Say Legend, you can send your money to the Treasury Department's "Gifts to Reduce the Public Debt", they take credit cards.

He's probably all talk, like Warren Buffett.

It just doesn't matter

I didn't watch the Grammys.

I've long ago given up watching America bashing, self serving award shows such as; The Academy Awards, The Emmys and any others.

I wasn't surprised that The Ditzy Chicks won, but I didn't waste my time watching any of their interviews or reading articles about them.

I was a little put out when I found out that Jimmy Carter also won a Grammy for the spoken word category for the audio version of his book.

He joins two time spoken word winner Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Hell, they gave a Grammy to Milli Vanilli!

Y'all never gave Little Richard a Grammy.

Elvis' Grammys were in the Gospel category.

"I think the Grammys are nothing more than some gigantic promotional machine for the music industry. They cater to a low intellect and they feed the masses. They don't honor the arts or the artist for what they created. It's the music business celebrating itself. That's basically what it's all about"...Maynard James Keenan lead singer of the metal band TOOL.

Sing

Two different halves of football combined for one interesting last minutes outcome.

When the lights went out, I broke into Dandy Don Meredith -- Turn out the lights, The party's over

Now I'm just wondering if Johnny, from Airplane, was just kidding around in the electrical room.

Other highlights(?) included Beyoncé sings – live this time.

I never doubted she could sing, after all her lip sync was to her own voice and not Milli Vanilli-esque.

Why are you there if you're not going to sing live?

Don't worry that it's not
Good enough for anyone
Else to hear
Just sing, sing a song

I'm sure it's much cheaper to just play a recording and put up your picture and the scientific community is united in that fact.

For the residents of the Not So Vast Right Wing Ranch, the ads were mostly wide left.

Four stood out for us -- You can never go wrong honoring Americans in the military (Jeep), with Paul Harvey (Dodge Ram), or the Budweiser Clydesdales. We also appreciated the chutzpah of the boy going stag to the prom (Audi).

Blame It On The Rain

Iowa's unemployment rate remained at 6.8% with the number of employed Iowans down.

Wait, that can't be right because the Big Lug Nut promised it would be better by now...

"And I guarantee you by late spring and summer, we're going to have a record amount of job creation and economic development in the state."

Construction jobs fell to the lowest number in Iowa in 10 years.

Even with the $875 million (plus interest) I-JOBS borrowing scam?

What does the Governor have to say about that?

"Well, obviously you've got weather related issues".

"You talk to anyone in this business right now and we've had a unprecedented amount of rain in a very short period of time".

But, I-JOBS began in 2009.

CONstruction joBS!

Culver-Judge, just as phony as Milli Vanilli.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Gotta blame it on something
Blame it on the rain
Blame it on the stars
Whatever you do don't put the blame on you

Who are you blaming that tie on?

Who gets the blame for the brown shoes with a black suit?

Tuesday afternoons have just been brutal to the Big Lug Nut.
