Kennedy's & VietNam

I've always been silently amused when Kopechne Killer Kennedy rants about President Bush & Iraq.

Especially when he wants to call it Bush's VietNam!

It was his idol brother Jack who escalated American involvement in that country by increasing military "advisors", involving Special Forces and finally regular military.

JFK also allowed for napalm & defoliants and free fire zones.

I almost forgot his complicity in the overthrow of the duly elected government of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem, probably in Diem's subsequent murder too.

Today I came across an excellent column by Jeff Jacoby that takes Kopechne Killer to task for his complicity in the downfall of VietNam.

Bush played no role in the fall of South Vietnam and Cambodia to the Communists in 1975, of course.

But Kennedy did.

He helped lead the congressional drive to cut off financial aid to the pro-American governments in Saigon and Phnom Penh, brushing aside President Gerald Ford's warning that "the horror and the tragedy that we see on television" would only grow worse if America deserted its allies.

But Kennedy and the Democrats spurned Ford's request, and the result was unspeakable agony -- Cambodia's killing fields, Vietnam's re-education camps, waves of "boat people" hurling themselves into the sea. Having seen the results of US abandonment in Indochina, how can Kennedy advocate the same policy in Iraq?

To me it's simple....whether at Chappaquiddick, VietNam or Iraq all Kopechne Killer Kennedy know's is RUN AWAY!

*****UPDATE*****

James Taranto touched on this also in his Best Of The Web Today in the OpinionJournal from The Wall Street Journal.

His tag line is better than mine....

As much as he likes to preen about his humanitarianism, when the going gets tough, Kennedy's message to those in need is "sink or swim."

75 to Life

The candles will further fuel "Gore Bull" warming.

From The Washington Times/Inside the Beltway column...

Senator Edward M. Kennedy Massachusetts Democrat, celebrates three-quarters of a century of living today.

...fellow Massachusetts Senator John Kerry observes in a birthday tribute to his colleague...

Say what you want to about Mr. Kennedy's ideals and ideology, he "sticks to his guns. ... He is listening still -- to the voices his conscience tells him must never be ignored."

Guns & Kennedy's? OOPS!

Mary Jo Kopechne, who's voice Teddy ignored, was killed just days shy of her 29th birthday.

Kopechne, who could not be reached for comment, would have turned 67 this July.

Maybe Teddy will celebrate by having a few drinks with his Dummycrat friends and then a long drive off of a short pier.

Driver's Seat

Teddy's talking, but the truthiness will be filtered through an alcoholic haze.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) has been signed, for reportedly more than $8 Million dollars, to write his memoirs.

Actually, he'll be working with the aid of a collaborator and researcher, because who knows how many brain cells he's pickled.

Teddy had this to say...

"I've been fortunate in my life to grow up in an extraordinary family and to have a front row seat at many key events in our nation's history."

As my title suggests, Teddy (75) was in the driver's seat for a very important event.

Mary Joe Kopechne could not be reached for comment.

Kennedy continued with...

"I hope my reflections can contribute to a deeper understanding of many events in the history of this great country and to a more in-depth picture of an American family."

The Kennedy's were the ones who originated the FUN in DYSFUNCTIONAL and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Noted historian (?) Douglas Brinkley called Teddy a "seminal figure".

Yuck!

Weren't all the Kennedy men?

I'll drink to that!

Oohoo Yeah

Enjoy Sniff 'N' the Tears

Pain in the neck

Killer Kennedy cheats death once again.

Teddy is expected to remain hospitalized for a few days, while recovering from surgery to repair a blocked artery in his neck.

Killer's left carotid artery - a major supplier of blood to the neck and head - was 70 percent blocked.

That explains a lot and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Doctors said Killer was sitting up, eating ice cream and drinking.

His recovery is expected to be quick. "After a very brief recovery period, Senator Kennedy will resume his normal schedule in Washington and in Massachusetts."

PARTAY!

I'll Be Doggone

I find it ironic that Ted Kennedy would have a water dog, let alone several.

In the immortal words of James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal's Opinion Journal....

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Baracky's Back In Town

SNOB-ama did Des Moines with significantly less than the 10,000 expected attending.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for" included Randy Black of Mason City.

Per the Ragister Black...

had hoped to see Des Moines turn out a bigger crowd than the estimated 70,000 who greeted Obama in Portland, Ore., on Sunday.

“We came out in record numbers on caucus night, didn’t we?” said Black, who carried a bouquet of gerber daisies and orange roses for the candidate’s wife, Michelle Oba
ma.

“This is big. People are so in love with Barack and Michelle. They’re good people. They’ll be our next president.”

THEY'LL?

Not Co-President's, again!

If that's the case Hellary & Bubba would be winning and the scientific community is united in that fact.

I'm thinking the Secret Service might want to keep an eye on Randy.

Mike Newell was also in attendance and said...

“Whatever we do let’s make as much noise as possible and mock the WHO studio down the street.”

If that's the Mike Newell who's a sportscaster, he knows the WHO Radio Studio is 2 miles away on Grand not Locust.

Looks like he shouldn't count on working for Clear Channel any more.

What's up with all the SNOB-ama workers who declined to be identified in pictures for the Ragister?

In a preemptive strike, last Friday, SNOB-ama blamed FOX News and e-mails for his defeat in Kentucky.

He credited Hellary's name recognition for her win...

“What it says is that I’m not very well known in that part of the country.”

“Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known — not only because of her time in the White House with her husband — but also coming from a nearby state of Arkansas.”

It's his home state of Illinois that shares a common border with Kentucky.

In his speech he slammed McCain/Bush several times then claimed...

They will play on our fears and our doubts and our divisions...

SNOB-ama continued...

Well they can take the low road if they want

Gotta love the Fiberal do as I say doodoo.

SNOB-ama also praised Teddy Kennedy...

because he cares – deeply, in his gut – about the causes of justice

Dem rules is different if you're from Massachusetts

At least Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) resigned his seat for questionable e-mails & instant messages he sent teenage male pages.

Over twenty years ago Representative Gerry Studds(D-MA), top, was censured by the House for propositioning 3 male teenage pages and having sex with one 17 year old page.

Studds physically turned his back on the House as the censure was being read to him.

Studds later held a press conference and stated what happened between them was nobody's business but their own.

Massachusetts elected Studds 5 more times after his censure, before he retired in 1997!

Take Barney Frank, pictured limp wristed, (D-MA)......PLEASE!!!!!

Nearly 20 years ago Frank's was reprimanded for a relationship with call boy Steve Gobie.

Frank made Gobie a personal aide, at a $20,000 salary that was not reported. He and Gobie attended public functions, including a White House ceremony.

Gobie also ran a prostitution ring out of Frank's apartment.

Gobie it turned out was a convicted felon with a prison record. That didn't stop Frank's from writing letters of reference to his probation officers.

Voters in the Commonwealth continue to send him to Congress.

The Grandaddy of them all is Teddy Kennedy!

Kennedy is pictured counting the number of murders he's gotten away with--most notably the 1969 drowning of Mary Jo Kopechne.

Teddy is once again up for re-election and the voters in the Bay state will show their enlightenment by sending him back to the Senate.

Have they no sense of decency?

Humor is the BEST Medicine

I took my mother to her oncologist today. For over the last year she's been treated for a re-occurrence of breast cancer, 14 years after the original occurrence. It's been a rough go for her, but she continues on.

One of the reasons she's still alive is the treatment of Dr. Bob Shreck. The man is an excellent doctor and has a great personality.

He found out today she's leaving Saturday for a week in Cap Cod.

He laughed and told her to get ready to pay, they don't call it TAX- a-chusetts for nothing.

He told her besides sales tax, she'd be paying a beach tax and after the third day there's a tax you pay for just being there.

He said his daughter & son-in-law lived there for a year and a half and it turned them into Republicans, he never thought THAT would happen.

I chimed in with, you know it's a COMMONWEALTH! You have to have the WEALTH of a Kennedy to LIVE there.

My mother is Irish Catholic and of the generation that adored John F. Kennedy, not so much Bobby or Ted. I'm sure she still votes Dummycrat.

It might be different if my dad were still around. Though he was a first generation Italian-American, and a Democrat, even after Watergate he would still proudly tell people he voted for Nixon...TWICE!

I registered as a Republican when I turned 18, it was my rebellion! I adore Ronald Reagan!!

Speaking of Kennedy's, I came across this recently in The Washington Times/Inside the Beltway column....

"Mission impossible." That's how Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, is now referring to the U.S. war effort in Iraq.

Calling for voters to elect Democrats this fall, Mr. Kennedy says President Bush's "stay the course" strategy in Iraq has failed, and he wants U.S. troops withdrawn from the bloody conflict immediately. Until then, "President Bush continues to whistle past the graveyard." (My emphasis)

I guess he's an expert on that!

Biting Sarcasm at its best

From The Wall Street Journal's OpinionJournal
Best of the Web Today-by James Taranto

From a statement by Sen. Ted Kennedy on President Bush's veto of the bill to subsidize embryonic stem-cell research:

We will be back again and again and again until we end the cruel restrictions on lifesaving research that are denying hope to millions of American patients and their families.

And nobody is more of an expert when it comes to cruel restrictions on lifesaving.

He usually signs off with...Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.

I'd rather go hunting with Dick...

Than riding with ANY Kennedy. The Drudge Report has this on the fruit of Teddy's loins.

KENNEDY CAR CRASH COVER-UP?
Thu May 04 2006 17:12:05 ET

Officers Claim Brass Interfered in Investigation of Rep. Kennedy Incident, ROLL CALL reports.

Police labor union officials asked acting Chief Christopher McGaffin this afternoon to allow a Capitol Police officer to complete his investigation into an early-morning car crash involving Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), son of Sen. Ted Kennedy.

According to a letter sent by Officer Greg Baird, acting chairman of the USCP FOP, the wreck took place at approximately 2:45 a.m. Thursday when Kennedy's car, operating with its running lights turned off, narrowly missed colliding with a Capitol Police cruiser and smashed into a security barricade at First and C streets Southeast.

A Capitol Police bulletin issued this afternoon stated that the department is investigating a "traffic violation that occurred in the early morning hours on May 4" at that location, ROLL CALL's John McArdle reports.

“The driver exited the vehicle and he was observed to be staggering,” Baird’s letter states. Officers approached the driver, who “declared to them he was a Congressman and was late to a vote. The House had adjourned nearly three hours before this incident. It was Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy from Rhode Island.”

Baird wrote that Capitol Police Patrol Division units, who are trained in driving under the influence cases, were not allowed to perform basic field sobriety tests on the Congressman. Instead, two sergeants, who also responded to the accident, proceeded to confer with the Capitol Police watch commander on duty and then “ordered all of the Patrol Division Units to leave the scene and that they were taking over.”

This morning's incident comes just over two weeks after Kennedy was involved in a car accident in Rhode Island.
Maybe he didn't say VOTE. Maybe he said BOAT and he was worried about missing the ferry, right DADDY!? Mary Jo Kopechne, pictured above, could not be reached for comment!
