Independence?

I saw the Christie Vilsack "Independence" ad on television last evening.

The first airing was sponsored by the House Majority PAC and the second airing had the ASSME tagline.

SEIU is also involved in the $400,000 worth of TV ads in the Des Moines and Sioux City markets.

One thing, besides what a waste the ad was and the scientific community is united in that fact, stood out for me.

Christie Vilsack as First Lady helped lead effort for early childhood funding.

I was curious as to how, but Vilsack doesn't enlighten us on her For CONgress web site.

There Vilsack proclaims, as Iowa's First Lady, she was Best known for creating a statewide literacy initiative.

There was nothing on the Vilsack Foundation, launched by Christie, or in her Bio at The Iowa Initiative, a group Vilsack also founded.

Christie Vilsack never even mentioned it during her March appearance in the Ames classroom of Dawn Remsburg (The Master Plan?).

Remsburg is featured in the "Independence" ad.

During that visit Vilsack discussed her K-12 education plan which included Steering sufficient financing to the Head Start and Early Start programs, which seems like a natural place to bring it up.

Salad Days (Are Here Again)

Chris and I must have been watching the news last night when we saw the latest Christie Vilsack commercial "Potluck".

It speaks volumes that nobody was sitting at the picnic table with her and that nobody had touched her seven layer salad of lettuce, onion, peas.

I sure hope it doesn't include Pickle.

Just like Vilsack's campaign, that salad doesn't add up and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Where is Christie when the President comes to town?

Christie turned comedic when she noted her husband will be with the President, "I think one Vilsack will be enough".

My in-laws have moved out of Ames, but don't have their house on the market yet thereby missing a chance to sell it to these suckers (and the scientific community is united in that fact).

Another first round draft pick of the Iowa Dummycrats will go down in flames, as their hatred of Representative Steve King burns so intense they can't think straight.

This move is about fiberals wanting more power, it's not about Iowa.

Iowa's merely a stepping stone.

The Pickle's relish has an even thinner resume than Barack Obama and that's working out so well.

Iowa Dummycrat Party Chair Sue Dvorsky says Vilsack “has many, many resources and experiences behind her that make her not really a first-time candidate.”

Please explain.

Not only has Christie Vilsack campaigned widely and acted as a visible surrogate for her husband during two successful runs for governor, but she helped him during his brief run for president in 2008, then worked on New York Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.









Those aren't strengths, especially in northwest Iowa.

Politico reported that Vilsack also been huddling with several Democratic operatives to plot a potential campaign, including veteran media consultant John Lapp and Teresa Vilmain, who headed up Hillary Clinton’s 2008 primary campaign in the state.

Again, not a strength as Hellary finished third, behind Obama and Joanie Phony.

Tom Vilsack said this about the race, “it will be a holy war.”

In Old Bromide's tale, Vilsack compares herself to Mark Twain.

This debate occurred at the Windsor Theatre in Hampton.

I loved this line from King -- “I’m not really sure if Mrs. Vilsack wants me to be a leader or a follower. I’ve gotten advice to be both a leader and a follower and it depends on the issue.”

That should give you some insight into the Pickle's life and the scientific community is united in that fact.

It was also interesting that Christie's Comrades were seated on the theater’s left side.

The topic of voter fraud arose, Vilsack had this to say about requiring a photo I.D.  --

“It is restrictive in many cases for people who are elderly. There are a lot of situations where people don’t have a picture I.D. and they need to be able to vote.”

Cite one case, Christie.

When groups sue to block photo-ID laws in court, they can’t seem to produce real-world examples of people who have actually been denied the right to vote. According to opinion polls, over 75 percent of Americans — including majorities of Hispanics and African-Americans — routinely support such laws.

Christie continued --  “I don’t think that there’s any evidence that there is a great deal of voter fraud out there. It’s the most important right and responsibility a person has in this country, to be able to vote, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure that people are allowed to do it.”

Notice she doesn't say the most important word...CITIZENS.

Also telling is her use of the phrase, "great deal of voter fraud".

If it is our most important right, any voter fraud is too much.

Be aware that “more than one out of every five registered Ohio voters is probably ineligible to vote.”

Nationwide, the Pew Center for the States estimates about 24 million ineligible voter registrations, including “more than 1.8 million dead people listed as voters; about 2.75 million with voter registrations in more than one state and other states with disturbing levels of ineligible registered voters include Mississippi, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama, California, and Colorado.

A case could be made, using the Vilsack values, there are very few cases of legitimate voters who were unable to have their vote counted because they lacked ID.

New English?

Reacting to another of Representative Steve King's attempts to make English the official language of the United States, Christie Vilsack told the Ames Tribune that there is no need to make English the official language.

Odd, since her Governor husband, Tom Vilsack (The Pickle), signed a bill making English the state's official language over twelve years ago and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The Tribune also discussed with Candidate Vilsack a 1994 newspaper column she wrote -- Hablas Ingles? Czy Pani Mowi Powi Po Angielsku?

Vilsack denies she said that English should be the official language of the United States.

Christie claims her opening sentence “The time has come to make English the official language of this country” was completely taken out of context.

In fairness, she did write "of the United States" and not "this country".

Much more troubling in the column is the fact the Mrs. Vilsack, the English teacher, would be sad if I never heard another Iowan say, “Where’s it at?” and the fact that she is fascinated at the way some African-Americans speak to each other in an English I struggle to understand, then switch to standard English when the situation requires.

In what context is that to be taken?

Debate Exposes Doubt

Round 2 in the Steve King - Christie Vilsack debates, although the Omaha World-Herald  has this as the first debate.

It sounds like this round was similar to the first go around (Shark Attack), although Vilsack's attacks are wearing thin on Democrats & Republicans.

Bob Johnson, of Dickens, said Vilsack may have been too contentious in her approach.

“Rather than spending her time answering the questions, she spent her time attacking Steve, where he actually addressed the questions and actually agreed with her on a couple of points,” Johnson said. “He was more professional in the debate.”

Dickinson County Democratic Party Co-Chair Denny Perry said he didn’t think there were too many independents at the debate to be swayed in their vote.

“But I do wish both sides would have had a fact-checker there because it seemed like many of the facts they presented may or may not have been true,” Perry said.

It speaks volumes when a Party Co-Chair doesn't even believe their own candidate and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Former Iowa Republican legislator Russell Eddie, of Storm Lake, said he was surprised that while Vilsack talks about being a consensus-builder, she seemed confrontational toward King.

Something has turned rotten in that seven layer salad of Christie's.

Potluck? It's more like a crapshoot with Christie.

The Master Plan?

With the success of her proposal, last fall, to create new jobs for Iowa workers by doubling the number of apprentices across the country, Christie Vilsack is touring Iowa touting her K-12 education plan.

Vilsack's plan includes -- Steering sufficient financing to the Head Start and Early Start programs, which help children prepare for elementary school.

Somebody's been copying from CommieTommie Harkin's paper (Head Start?) and the scientific community is united in that fact.

At Meeker Elementary School in Ames, Vilsack, a former teacher and mother of two shared how “I spent a summer in a Title I reading classroom between my freshman and sophomore year in college. (I learned) I don’t like little kids rubbing my legs and pulling on my clothes going, ‘Teacher, teacher, teacher.’ I realized I wasn’t going to make it. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to teach kids to read, it was that I couldn’t handle all those other things. That’s what you learn from experiences.”

Vilsack also related this story -- she was 3, her father took her to an event featuring then-President Harry Truman. Truman spotted the young, head-down Vilsack in the crowd and asked her if he could shake her hand. She declined.

“Then President Truman said, ‘Little girl, if I give you this pen, would you shake my hand?’” Vilsack said.

She agreed and picked up a keepsake she’s held onto ever since.

Which shows that this candidate for CONgress has been able to be bought for quite a few years.

Some big name, out of state* fiberals have donated big dollars to Christie Vilsack's campaign for CONgress.

Christie Vilsack drawing cash from big names, non-Iowans

Bill Clinton, David Axelrod, Warren Buffett, Paul Begala and former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine.

The same Jon Corzine who was CEO and Chairman of MF Global that declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy, with hundreds of millions of dollars in missing customer funds, and was one of the ten biggest bankruptcies in U.S. history.

It has been reported that officials investigating the case believed most of the money is unrecoverable and a memo produced by congressional investigators quotes an internal company e-mail as saying Corzine gave "direct instructions" to use customer money to cover the company's own shortfalls prior to bankruptcy.

Vilsack's camp is not smart enough to take tainted funds and the scientific community is united in that fact.

 

*Out of state money is supposed to be bad.

The Search Is Over

It didn't take long for Iowa Dummycrats to replace their spokes monkey.

Iowa Democratic Party spokesman joins Christie Vilsack campaign

Sam Roecker will serve as the communications director for Vilsack.

Roecker will be replaced, as communications director for the party, by Michael Hunt.

Mike Hunt is seen as a tremendous asset, so it was good of him to answer the call.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Roecker was also seen as an asset when he joined the Iowa Dems to re-elect Governor Culver, send Roxanne Conlin to the Senate.

Here's hoping he accomplishes the same for Christie Vilsack.

The Ragister also reports Emily's List is a PAC that backs women who support abortion rights.

The Ragister doesn't report the whole story, per Emily herself they are dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women.

Big difference and the scientific community is united in that fact.

They count as 12 the total number of Iowa women elected to office with EMILY’s List help.

Among the 12 are Staci Appel-sauce for brains, Doris Kelley and Becky Schmitz, all were defeated last fall.

Other suck-cesses for Emily include their backing of Rozanne, err Taxanne Conlin and Becky Greenwald.

We Gotta Get You A Woman

Jean Lloyd-Jones, a Democratic former state senator from Iowa City and Maggie Tinsman, a Republican former state senator from Bettendorf are co-founders of 50-50 in 2020.

These two issued a press release urging both Republicans and Democrats to nominate women from their parties to fill vacancies that may open up in Congress, such as the seat currently occupied by CommieTommie Harkin.

In the release were 10 potential Iowa candidates: Des Moines attorney Roxanne Conlin, a Democrat; Iowa Economic Development Director Debi Durham, a Republican; Des Moines City Councilwoman Chris Hensley, a Republican; Iowa Senate President Pam Jochum, a Democrat; former Lt. Gov. Patty Judge, a Democrat; former U.S. Ambassador Mary Kramer, a Republican; former Lt Gov. Sally Pederson, a Democrat; current Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, a Republican; Iowa House Majority Leader Linda Upmeyer, a Republican; and former Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack, a Democrat.

Jean Lloyd-Jones said in the statement, “Since Iowa is one of four states which has never elected a woman to Congress, this seems like a good opportunity to rid ourselves of that dubious distinction.” 

Dubious are some of the ladies on your list and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Rozanne, err Taxanne Conlin is already a two time loser, Patty Judge folded early in the 2006 Dummycrat Governor primary and then teamed up with the Big Lug Nut, Chris Hensley can't get elected Mayor of Des Moines and Christie Vilsack just got her hat handed to her by Steve King.

Step outside in some arctic temperatures and chill.

The goal should be electing qualified women, not just quota women.

Madame X

Currently underway, Emily's List is holding a Madam President forum in Des Moines.

Moderated by Radio Iowa's O. Kay Henderson, panelists include Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, CONgressional wannabe Staci Appel-sauce for brains and Christie Vilsack's CONgressional campaign manager.

McCaskill, a tax cheat, is only in the Senate because Missourians thought it better than having her as Governor and her last opponent was an idiot.

Appel is a failed one term State Senator.

Christie Vilsack is in Washington, but not in the way she wanted.

Interestingly, Stephanie Schriock, President of Emily's List, decided against running for the open U.S. Senate seat in her native Montana.

I'm certain she would meet the three qualifications to be considered for an EMILY’s List endorsement: back abortion rights, including the right to late-term (or “partial birth”) abortions; be a Democrat; and, in primary elections, be a woman.

It must be because Montana is largely a pro-life state.

Governmentalist

The Ames Tribune caught Christie Vilsack's campaign stretching the meaning of educator for the release of her list of “Educators for Vilsack”.


Of the 18 educators listed as living in Ames, the Tribune confirmed that at least three are currently full-time employees of a school district; two are teachers and one is a secretary. Twelve people on the list are retired teachers or professors, and three were unreachable. A check of employment records shows that the three unknowns on the list do not currently work for Iowa State University, Des Moines Area Community College, or school districts in Ames, Boone, Nevada, Gilbert, Ballard or Roland-Story.

Vilsack Campaign Communications Director, Sam Roecker, couldn’t say how many included on the list were retired, but he said he didn’t think it was misleading to include retired teachers or non-teachers.

When I think Educator, I think "non-teacher".

Roecker continued to ramble on with -- “I don’t think we’re in a position to define what is and what isn’t an educator. Somebody who has been a secretary for decades is going to know what issues schools face.”

FAIL!

North Iowa Dummycrats recently held their annual Wing Ding with Christie Vilsack as the featured speaker.

The Mason City Globe Gazette didn't report what Vilsack told those in attendance, so it couldn't have been that noteworthy and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Shark Attack

It appears that Congressman Steve King was under the impression that Christie Vilsack was going to fight like a girl in their first debate.

Vilsack's attacks catch King 'off-balance'

Sounds like he expected her to serve her seven layer salad like it was a potluck.

Kevin Hall caught Vilsack's failure on the facts, especially with the Fair Tax and the prebate element as she admitted - “No, I don’t know what the prebate is.”

She is intimately familiar, however, with the term reprobate.

Glass Ceiling?

At a fundraiser for Christie Vilsack, Jill Biden bemoaned that a glass ceiling has hung over Iowa far too long and noted the only place you could find a place a woman from Iowa serving in Congress was in the movies and that was a Billy Wilder movie released in 1948.

Biden left out two key pieces of information, the movie was "A Foreign Affair" and the Congresswoman, played by Jean Arthur, was a Republican.

 Asked, in the film, How is good old Iowa?

Congresswoman Phoebe Frost responded, Sixty-two percent Republican, thank you.

Those were the days and the scientific community is united in that fact.

When Vilsack spoke, she said -- “I might add that I think Congress right now can use an 8th grade language arts teacher who knows how to deal with adolescent behavior.”

Really?

The Sorcerer's Apprentice?

Christie Vilsack is set to announce a policy proposal this morning in Sioux City.

Vilsack will call for doubling the number of apprentices across the country.

After all that time listening, her first proposal is a gift to the AFL-CIO and the scientific community is united in that fact.

CommieTommie Harkin floated a similiar meme in a love fest, err interview on KCCI Wednesday.

It was also mentioned during a roundtable discussion in Cedar Rapids on Monday.

“You can’t beat it,” Matthew Fisher of Cedar Rapids IBEW Local 204, said about apprenticeships programs.

I wonder if she'll change the name from a similar program in Britain, The Growth Investment Fund (GIF), unveiled earlier this year and deemed vital for the future of the economy according to union leaders.
