There's a glaring error in the Ragister headline of this Associated Press story --

Ethics complaint filed against Iowa county auditor

The story is about the Audit-err of the People's Republic of Johnson County, Tom Slockett.

The problem is that there is an Iowa County (and the scientific community is united in that fact) and it happens to be right next to Johnson County, as the map shows.

The headline would work if the state did not have such a county, as it is the Ragister has sullied the reputation of Iowa County Auditor, Kristen Miller.

This is how the headline should have appeared --

Friday was the 25th Anniversary of their International Day of Peace.

I didn't have a peaceful day yesterday, I believe I should be able to sue the U.N. and the scientific community is united in that fact.

A few dozen peace activists have been busy the last few days with their offensive.

Thursday in the heart of The People's Republic of Johnson County, Iowa City, Professional student (he's 26 and finally a Senior) David Goodner led a sad group of socialists in a "die in".

As usual with the ADHD peace-a-fists, they try and fit all perceived egregious sins, against only democracies, into their social gatherings.

This usually involves; The Palestinians, Haiti, the Philippines, Nicaragua, worker's rights, illegal aliens, welfare and gay rights.

It appears Goodner's good buddies were able to limit it to Palestine.

Friday, a handful of students and Professional protester Frank Cordaro held a sit in at the Des Moines office of Senator Charles Grassley.

It came about because there was no school that day and it doesn't matter to Cordaro, because he has no job.

Today is Des Moines second annual Peace Fair and will include food & merchandise vendors, arts and crafts, children's cooperative games, dance and music that will include the Rappin' Mamas .

Minuteman Project

According to the director of the Iowa Center for Immigrant Leadership and Integration at the University of Northern Iowa, has estimated that 50,000 to 75,000 Latinos in Iowa are here illegally.

Guestimates would be more accurate if they doubled or tripled those figures.

Keeping that in mind there was a rally at the Iowa Statehouse against illegal immigration this past weekend, the Ragister reported 50 people attended.

In his remarks to the gathering Representative Steve King (R-IA) said the concept of a fence across the U.S.-Mexican border recently won approval from Congress because of grass-roots support from Americans who are unhappy about illegal immigration.

In a bit of a surprise there were no counter-protesters.

I say that because of the October 4th assault on the Minutemen at Columbia University. The groups founder (Jim Gilchrist) was invited to speak, but before he could do so the stage was stormed and a melee ensued.

Last Thursday the Ragister ran an opinion piece from David Goodner of the People's Republic of Johnson County (Iowa City) regarding the Columbia incident.

In the opinion of Goodner....I'm not sure which side of the free-speech issue to support. Everyone has a right to express his or her opinion, but racist scapegoating should not be up for academic discussion. Hate groups like the Minutemen do not present legitimate, reasonable debate.

This was after he noted....students jumped on stage during Gilchrist's speech and unfolded a banner that said, "No one is illegal." Hundreds of students chanted, "Minutemen, Nazis, KKK, racists, fascists, go away!" Unfortunately, the encounter soon turned violent.

Don't you just love Fiberals and their do as I say not as I do reality.

The only Free Speech they believe in is their own!

My friend Cal recently sent me this analogy regarding illegal immigration...

This summer large demonstrations were held across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let's say, I break into your house. Let's say, that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard working and honest, um, except for, well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice, and being an anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, and I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?!

A Touch Of Gray?

See Bilious

Maybe it's because she was in Iowa City, the capitol of the People's Republic of Johnson County, that caused Kansas Governor Kathleen See Bilious to utter her bile.

She accused Republicans of using "code language" to convince Midwestern voters that Obama is an unworthy choice for president.

The article doesn't state what the "code language" is, but the See Bilious one said...

"Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American?" she asked with sarcasm. "(Republicans) are not going to go lightly into the darkness."

The only ones who are playing the race card are the Dummycrats, Obama himself and the media.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

The See Bilious one tried to tie a former McCain adviser, Phil Gramm, into recent economic woes...

"(Gramm) is the author of a lot of the chaos you're seeing."

As James Taranto points out a CO-author was then-Rep. Jim Leach of Iowa, is a co-founder of Republicans for Obama. If he has had second thoughts about banking deregulation, he did not mention them in his Democratic Convention speech.

Taranto also notes that Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, voted for the measure and it was signed into law by Bill Clinton.

It should also be noted that Obama's national finance chair is partially responsible for one of the greater banking collapses in American history.

Penny Pritzker, and family, were half owner's of Superior Bank, which was shut down in 2001 by the FDIC after it had lost nearly all of its more than $2 billion of assets on bad loans to high-risk borrowers.

The Bigger Picture

This Cedar Rapids Gazette headline is in one way quite telling and in the other, no surprise at all and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Why is it that the government is the only thing Dummycrats never try to stop from getting larger?

Tiny Tot Tyler Olson told a gathering in Iowa City --

“We need a candidate that is a clear break from the past … a totally different perspective in the governor’s office. Simply running on the best policies Democrats have to offer won’t be enough. “We need a governor that understands the pace of the change that’s happening.”

Running as a Dummycrat won't work.

Jack ASS...err, Hatch said --he felt “unbridled” speaking in the “People’s Republic of Johnson County.

That's because this braying asses policies include changing tax policies to tax the rich more and the middle class “a lot less.”

Can you say Socialist?

Hatch called for new clean water policies and to make state funds available for conservation practices.

Hatch wants to expand early childhood education and, for college students restructure financial aid to lower students’ college debt.

All of which translates into hold onto your wallet.

At the barbecue, Bob Krause put the problem this way --

BUZZ--WRONG!

According to the The Economist, Aussies have paid anywhere from 6 cents to 70 cents extra for their Big Macs compared to Americans over the past two years, a 1 percent to 17 percent premium. 

Bob, take a look at the big picture

To start, some Australians actually make less than the adult minimum wage. The country allows lower pay for teenagers, and the labor deal McDonald's struck with its employees currently pays 16-year-olds roughly US$8-an-hour, not altogether different from what they'd make in the states. McDonald's relies heavily on young workers in Australia. It's a specific quirk of the country's wage system. But it goes to show that even in generally high-pay countries, restaurants try to save on labor where they can.

Or if not, they've at least managed to replace a few of them with computers...fast food franchises in Europe have been some of the earliest adopters of touchscreen kiosks that let customers order without a cashier. As always, the peril of making employees more expensive is that machines become cheaper in comparison.

Lastly, Paul Dahl warned against nominating either Hatch or Olson. The former has “skeletons in his closet” that will be exploited by the Branstad campaign and Olson, he said, “is too young at 37 to be governor.”

Gee, maybe we've been too darned hard on Dahl?

The People's Republic of Johnson County appears on a list, at number 13, of the 20 least stressed counties per The Associated Press Economic Stress Index.

No details were given, but employment at the University was assuredly one of the main economic reasons.

Cannabis could have something to do with that, right Ronald?

Now comes word that the one time sheltered workshop of Ward Churchill is looking to attract high-profile political conservatives to teach on the left-leaning campus.

Right on!

There may be hope for the Peoples Republic of Boulder.

House and Senate concur

The United States House of Representatives voted today, 256-153, in favor of a resolution that praises U.S. troops, labels the Iraq war part of the larger global fight against terrorism and says an "arbitrary date for the withdrawal or redeployment" of troops is not in the national interest.

SanFranNancy Pelosi said, "The war in Iraq has been a mistake. I say, a grotesque mistake." seeing how her best friend is BOTOX, I'd say she's an expert on grotesque mistakes!

In somewhat of a surprise John "MAD" Murtha voted against the resolution. The last time this came up he voted against the cut & run crowd.

Iowa's delegation of King, Latham and BOZO-well voted in favor of the resolution. Jim Nussle did not vote, in Iowa for the GOP state convention. Republican in name only (RINO) Jim Leach was one of only three Republicans who voted with the cut & run crowd. I guess that's what happens when you represent the People's Republic of Johnson County.

Let it Snow

I'm never sad to see the end of snow.

Tony Snow was the exception to that rule and the scientific community is united in that fact.

He had an infectious smile and seemed like a truly nice guy who had his priorities in order.

Sadder than the loss of Tony Snow, is the lack of compassion shown by those on the loony left.

It says a lot when they have to post this at Democrat Underground...

So, instead of creating extra work for them, it would be nice if people would voluntarily refrain from posting inflammatory crap that makes us all look like jerks.

The Usual Suspects

Eleven peace activists face up to a month in jail after refusing to leave Sen. Charles Grassley's Cedar Rapids office in February while protesting the Iraq war.

The group was convicted of trespassing on Monday.

Sentencing is set for July 6 in Linn County District Associate Court. The protesters each face up to 30 days in jail and/or a fine.

There were 18 who protested and were arrested, so I'm not sure what happened to the other 7.

The loony leftists were led by former priest and professional protester Frank Cordaro and consisted mainly of students from the University of Iowa in the People's Republic of Johnson County.

That'll look good on a resume and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Jeff Elton of Altoona told the two subcommittee members that he has run out of patient with the legislative inaction at the Statehouse and plans to move to Colorado or Oregon where he would be able to use medical marijuana inhaled through the help of a vaporizer to get relief from the nausea, vomiting, shakes and tremors associated with a paralyzed stomach condition.

State Senator Joe Bolkcom, Dummycrat/People's Republic of Johnson County, believes Iowans are ahead of lawmakers in supporting limited access to marijuana for therapeutic purposes but not recreational uses.

Stuck on Stupid the World Tour is stopping in the People's Republic of Johnson County(Iowa City).

The Women's Resource & Action Center (WRAC) will sponsor a lecture by noted anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Macbride Auditorium on the University of Iowa campus. There is no admission charge for the lecture; however, tickets are required. Tickets for the general public, as well as UI students, staff and faculty, are available at the University Box Office in the Iowa Memorial Union on a first-come, first-served basis.

I sent an e-mail to WRAC to question if tax dollars are going for this, the way I read it--they do.

Since Cindy says she withholds tax money for the Pentagon, I guess my tax dollars to the U of I will need to be withheld too!

Chris graduated from the U of I and loves Iowa City, I detest the place.

One of my favorite lines in "Field Of Dreams" is when Kinsella's daughter, Karin, says people will go to Iowa City and get really, really bored!

U. of Iowa Clinton backers endorse McCain, McKinney

Mike Denklau says King is “not representing the Iowa values I knew.”

Interesting phrasing of the past tense.

Other than NEW YORK CITY?!?!, Denklau spent time in Scott County and The People's Republic of Johnson County.

Those places don't represent the Iowa values I still know and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The gaffe-ted one did it again last night.

In a live satellite speech tonight to the Democratic National Convention in Denver from a home in Kansas City, Obama said: "I'm here with the Girardo family here in St. Louis."

Who am I? Where am I? Why am I here?

The same could be said for one time Iowa Congressman Jim Leach...

"It is clear to all Americans that something is out of kilter in our great Republic."

Yes, Jim Leach calling himself a Republican and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Comparing it to circulating a birthday card, the Auditor for the People's Republic of Johnson County, routed his nominating petition through his office with a check list for employees to mark after they had seen it.

Slockett sends re-election petition to office employees

The Iowa Code prohibits the use of public resources for political purposes. That includes using public time, property or facilities for campaign work.

Thereby making him the Audit-err.

The Dummycrat has been auditor and elections commissioner since 1977, but in 2008 faced election challenges from two former employees who claimed he created a hostile work environment.

These kind of things will happen when one party dominates for far too long and the scientific community is united in that fact.

For years it's been known as the People's Republic of Johnson County, but the flag is more accurate and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Iowa City has been a nuclear-free zone since 1985 (like a nuke aimed for there would care).

It also claims to be a free speech city (no seriously) and may soon be a sanctuary city (that works well).

Iowa City was also pimped in one of my favorite flicks, Field of Dreams when Ray Kinsella's daughter says people will "go to Iowa City and get really, really bored".

They must have quelled all the recent violence there because they had time to debate the FBI at last night's city council meeting and will discuss it further at a future council meeting.

Ah, UTOPIA!
