There are only a handful of people who get me and I'm o.k. with that.

My wife Chris is one and my friend Cal too (or two).

John Deeth can be added to that list as it has come to light that the Liter is one of John's regular stops...

Deeth is one of the few liberals that I get, I think because he doesn't take himself too seriously.

In addition, he's done time in radio and is a Cheesehead...although as someone who remembers the first two Super Bowl wins, I'm much moldier than that.

I've often thought, Sarcasm--without it life itself is nearly impossible.

However, SNARK seems much cooler and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Separated?

I'm not sure how this escaped detection all these years.

If you put a red beret on Rezko it would be a mirror image.

















If Obama senior White House adviser David Axelrod, with Deeth, had whiter hair (and less on top) he could pass for Rezko too.

The Iowa Code prohibits the use of public resources for political purposes. That includes using public time, property or facilities for campaign work.

Thereby making him the Audit-err.

The Dummycrat has been auditor and elections commissioner since 1977, but in 2008 faced election challenges from two former employees who claimed he created a hostile work environment.

These kind of things will happen when one party dominates for far too long and the scientific community is united in that fact.

I can't figure out if I'm supposed to be Beavis or Butthead and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The headline, Headlights On The Parade, came from a YouTube search of the word parade. The song and the picture made the double entendre easier.

Out of deference to Conlin's age and how tender of an issue it can be for women, I didn't focus on her underarm fat.

What I'm taking away from this is that it's okay to make fun of men, but not women (unless they're Sarah Palin).

Also, women want to be treated differently than men.

I've Got A Rocket In My Pocket

There's a contentious primary among Iowa Dummycrats in House District 73, a part of which includes a portion of the People's Republic.

Clint Black look alike David Johnson and Dick Schwab are on the June 5th ballot.

The Press-Citizen and John Deeth have both written on the race lately, with Deeth noting the battle has gotten nasty enough that the Johnson County Democrats banned primary discussion in their Facebook group.

We're just disappointed not to have read the angle, of the dangle,  Johnson Faces Dick Schwab.

I read where our favorite leftist, John Deeth, is threatening to shave his mustache the day Terry takes back Terrace Hill.

It would definitely end some similarities with David Axelrod and Tony Rezko.

The Brothers Johnson?

I wanted to share these HIGHlights, of the recent Johnson County Democrats Hall of Fame dinner, thanks to John Deeth and his blog.

According to State Senator Jack ASS...err, Hatch -- "Iowa has highest percentage of children with health insurance in the country"

Really?

As of 2011, the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute Center for Children and Families found Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois and New Hampshire had the lowest rates of uninsured children.

Jack Ass comes across as a little less than truthful with the press in his run for Governor, telling them --

I’m thinking about it.  I wish I could say more, but until the session is over, I’m going to be focused on that. I don’t want any of my colleagues to be diverted from working with me on legislation that’s real important to the state.

To JoCo Dems, Hatch acknowledged that recently leaked news that he'd formed an exploratory committee for governor, and he pledges to stand on principle. "For the first time in 8 years, we'll have a governor who won't make decisions based on polls," he said, in an implied shot at Chet Culver. "Democrats win when we vote with our heart."

The Ragister reports No Sack...err Loebsack has sent Beck a personal invitation to visit Cedar Rapids.

Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes?

John Deeth has been doing yeoman's work on the states redistricting changes with his District of the Day.

His dissection of Senate District 22 caught my attention when he noted that Senator Pat Ward would be moving into the district and that she might be challenged by current resident Steve Douche, err Deace.

The showdown has been rumored on other blogs too (Digesting the Iowa map), fueled by Deace's Twitter -- Proposed new redistricting plan leaves my district without a state senator...hmm...

Does it?

Either Deace doesn't know how to read a map, or I don't and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Deace's residence is listed, on the Polk County Assessor's web site, as being West of I-35, South of Colt Drive and East of 60th Street.

Per the redistricting maps at the web site for the Iowa Legislature, Deace lives in Matt McCoy's Senate District 21 and not the open District 22.

Peace, Love, such a Dope

Rozanne, err Taxanne Conlin took her campaign for the U.S. Senate to the People's Republic of Iowa City on Friday.

The 66 year old flashed back to her '60s roots telling attendees -- "I marched for peace on that street right there" equating that to our current war on terror with -- "We don't belong in Afghanistan with guns. Were creating problems, not solving them."

Is Flower power what the Yippie Hippie is recommending?

On the tax issue, Conlin is for raising them by allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire -- "...Yes, I'm calling for raising my own taxes. I don't think that's hypocritical, I think that's what we 60s idealists do."

Oh, my God, you're from the Sixties! Out! Back to the Sixties! Back! There's no place for you here in the future! Get back while you still can!

It seems to me that a '60s idealist wouldn't need the government to require them to pay more taxes, that's just what they would do.

A '60s idealist wouldn't need $64. 2 Million in government tax credits to build low income housing, that's just something someone with assets between $12.5 million and $46.8 million should and would do.

A '60s idealist wouldn't deprive their city of necessary tax dollars by taking the 5 year tax abatement on her 17 room, 7,268 total square foot home with an assessed value of $1,785,900.

A '60s idealist would never have taken advantage of tax shelters, that she had denounced, to avoid paying state income taxes.

Conlin, who despises Wall Street's obscene bonuses, needs to disclose how she would vote on President Obama's nominee to oversee the federal budget at Office of Management and Budget.

The nominee, Jacob Lew, received a $940,000 bonus from Citigroup after it was bailed out by taxpayers.

That sounds like a definition of obscene to me and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Drawing a distinction between herself and Senator Grassley, Conlin noted -- "...We should be suspicious of government in the hands of people who hate it."

Just the opposite is true for me, I'm leery of those that love government so much they believe it's the solution to every problem.

Also, I don't believe Grassley has ever stated that he hates government.

Finally, there's the usual conundrum over the number in attendance, with John Deeth putting the number at about 60 and the Iowa City Press Citizen pegging the number at about 50.

Either way, it seems like a low figure for a bastion of Fiberalism.

The Big Crash?

A group called Progress Iowa tried to organize a Crash Mitt Romney's Private Country Club Event!

They extended 37 online invites to such heavyweights as Danny Homan and ASSME Iowa; Ken Sagar; Bonnie Campbell; Mari Culver; Charlie Wishman and John Deeth.

According to the Ragister, 15 or 20 people showed up for the street demonstration, including many with ties to unions, the activist group Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement and other liberal organizations.

That shouldn't merit media coverage and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Protesters quoted include, Ryan Maher (a Socialist brother to Bill), who state brilliantly on a sign -- “Hey, Mr. One Percent, open up your country club event to the real job creators.”

And that would be a carpet layer from Des Moines?

When you look and think like Ryan, the only thing you can lay is carpet.

Also in attendance were Jan Laue who said -- “Mitt Romney and his rich benefactors are behind the gate while ordinary people are out on the street. It’s symbolic of what would happen if Mitt Romney were elected.”

As you can see from our first picture Laue is correct, as there has been a fence around the White House since 1876.

Michael Hunt, a spokesman for the Iowa Democratic Party, wore a Mitt Romney Halloween mask as he held a sign criticizing “Romney economics.”

wHATCHa Gonna Do?

It took State Senator Jack ASS...err, Hatch less than 12 hours to go from really likely running for Governor to officially announcing an intention to explore a campaign for governor.

That's not the kind of decisiveness one wants in a leader and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Hatch is hedging because he doesn't want to lose another primary race, like his failed 1992 effort to unseat Senator Elaine Szymoniak, and that's what would happen if The Pickle or The Big Lug Nut decide to run.

I’m not interested in taking on quality candidates that I think that have really proven to be a successful governor. That does for Governor Culver, too.

But then Hatch, later in Cedar Rapids, said -- No other Democrat who chooses to run for governor will have the depth of experience in challenging Branstad than I do.

It was two weeks ago that Jack ASS, according to John Deeth, took a swipe at the BLN saying --  For the first time in 8 years, we'll have a governor who won't make decisions based on polls

Hatch will have a lot to answer for, as he said he supported an increase in the fuel tax.

In addition, Hatch has personally benefited from tax credits ala Rozanne, err Taxanne Conlin and will continue to do so thanks to a new law that expands the amount of Historic Rehab Credits

Not to mention

Robert Novak says Hellary is trying...

...to spread the message that Obama represents the radical left-wing politics of George McGovern's 1972 candidacy, which won only one state.

He left out the fact that last fall McGovern endorsed Hellary in the People's Republic of Johnson County.

I usually don't like to blow my own horn, at 6' 8" it's complicated, but at 12:07:10 a.m. (in the morning) all the way from Hamburg Germany (mmm meat) Iowa's Newz Liter reached a milestone.

Luckily no one was injured during our 100,000th recorded hit.

I say recorded, because it was a year and a half into the blog before I added the site meter.

I'm sure there wasn't a lot of traffic in those early days and frankly I'm always amazed anyone reads what I post and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Biden brings Pack Win

I'm sure Green Bay's win over Minnesota had to be in large part to Joe Biden, yesterday, sharing his longtime devotion to the Pack..."I'm a Green Bay Packers guy from high school!"

That may be a stretch for someone who's claiming roots in Scranton, Pennsylvania and who grew up in Delaware.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

It would seem that someone from Scranton would be a Philadelphia Eagles fan, or possibly New York Giants.

Growing up in Delaware, a boy would probably have rooted for the New York Giants or Baltimore Colts.

Biden graduated from high school in 1961, the Packers stunk until Vince Lombardi (7-5 in his first season of 1959).

In 1960 they lost in the NFL title game to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Packers beat the New York Giants in 1961, but Biden would have graduated by the game on December 31st.

I wonder what fellow Packer fan, and someone who despises phony fans, John Deeth thinks?

Republicans grab majority in both Minnesota houses

Gone are the days when Minnesota Republicans were actually Democrats, but the Democrats are still Socialists and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Just as stunning, from the land that launched the Progressives, voters threw out Russ Feingold and Republicans took over the governorship and both houses of the legislature in Wisconsin.

That's gotta hurt John Deeth, at least you'll always have Baraboo and Fighting BobFest with CommieTommie Harkin.
