Dem rules is different if you're from Massachusetts

At least Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) resigned his seat for questionable e-mails & instant messages he sent teenage male pages.

Over twenty years ago Representative Gerry Studds(D-MA), top, was censured by the House for propositioning 3 male teenage pages and having sex with one 17 year old page.

Studds physically turned his back on the House as the censure was being read to him.

Studds later held a press conference and stated what happened between them was nobody's business but their own.

Massachusetts elected Studds 5 more times after his censure, before he retired in 1997!

Take Barney Frank, pictured limp wristed, (D-MA)......PLEASE!!!!!

Nearly 20 years ago Frank's was reprimanded for a relationship with call boy Steve Gobie.

Frank made Gobie a personal aide, at a $20,000 salary that was not reported. He and Gobie attended public functions, including a White House ceremony.

Gobie also ran a prostitution ring out of Frank's apartment.

Gobie it turned out was a convicted felon with a prison record. That didn't stop Frank's from writing letters of reference to his probation officers.

Voters in the Commonwealth continue to send him to Congress.

The Grandaddy of them all is Teddy Kennedy!

Kennedy is pictured counting the number of murders he's gotten away with--most notably the 1969 drowning of Mary Jo Kopechne.

Teddy is once again up for re-election and the voters in the Bay state will show their enlightenment by sending him back to the Senate.

Have they no sense of decency?

There are differences

President Bush gave a speech yesterday critical of Dummycrats and Hillary Rodham Clinton & Howard Dean spoke yesterday and proved the President's points.

"Five years after 9/11, the worst attack on the American homeland in our history, Democrats offer nothing but criticism and obstruction and endless second-guessing.

"The party of FDR and the party of Harry Truman has become the party of cut and run."

"Some in Washington, some decent people, patriotic people, feel like we should not be on the offensive in this war on terror," the president said. "We will fight them wherever they make a stand."

HRC said, "I am just totally focused on this November's election...I am fixated on taking back the House and the Senate" because "everything we care about is at stake."

"The damage that has already been done to our country in the last six years is incalculable," she said.

"...the biggest difference is the disregard for our constitutional democracy, the disdain for checks and balances, the denial of accountability that marks this president and vice president and that's really our entire system being put at risk."

".... we cannot afford to have our Constitution shredded and our country's commitment to freedom basically thrown out after centuries of setting the standard by which others are judged," she noted.

Here's what 'The SCREAM' said, "Five years after Osama bin Laden murdered 3,000 people, he's still on the loose in northwest Pakistan plotting to kill our people.

"Explain to me how this president has made America safer," he added. "You can't trust the Republicans to defend America, not because they don't want to, but because they don't know how."

The words Karl Rove spoke last summer ring true here....

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers,Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

"Conservatives saw what happened to us on 9/11 and said we will defeat our enemies. Liberals saw what happened to us and said we must understand our enemies."

It should come as no surprise what my choice is for this fall's election.

'08 Republicans

For a few months I've been searching for who I think should be the nominee in 2008.

I remember in April watching Senator George Allen stumble in a speech to a group of Republicans in South Carolina and thinking I couldn't get on that bandwagon.

Recently I had been discussing '08 with my friend Cal and told him I was giving Mitt Romney consideration.

Thanks to my lovely wife, I was fortunate to attend Governor Mitt Romney's speech at The Principal yesterday.

He spent the first few minutes talking about his background as a venture capitalist, head of the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Games and Governor of Massachusetts.

He then addressed his outline for America's future and I agree with Governor Romney on the 5 issues facing our country:

Defeating the Jihadists

Raising the Bar on Education-stressing our need to compete with Asia.

Stopping Runaway Spending

Achieving Energy Independence-He's for drilling at ANWAR and off the Gulf Coast.

Affirming America’s Culture and Values.

He also did a nice job handling questions, at one point correcting a woman who said the Department of Defense takes over 50% of the budget and pointing out that he would not cut the Pentagon's budget, but spend wisely.

We sat in the front row and Governor Romney came down and shook our hands afterwards.

I have to admit I'm feeling ambivalent towards him personally. He just came across as too polished and slick. I guess I'm looking for someone I can connect with, like I did with George W. Bush.

I know I can connect with Mayor Rudy Giuliani, maybe it's a DAGO thing, he is passionate.

He also comes across Presidential when he does things like this...

Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani characterized Bill and Hillary Clinton's recent criticism of President Bush's efforts to stop Osama bin Laden before 9/11 as a "mistake" and said it's time to "stop this blame thing" over who is responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks.

The real fault for 9/11, Giuliani says, lies squarely with the Islamic terrorists.

"Americans didn't do Sept. 11, the Islamic terrorists did."

"...Islamic fanatics who came here and killed us and want to come here and do it again".

It's a good thing time is on my side.

She's no Tammy Wynette

Hillary pulled another "Stand by your Man" when she jumped UGLY regarding Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's factual dispute with Bubba.

HRC said, "I think my husband did a great job in demonstrating that Democrats are not going to take these attacks. I'm certain that if my husband and his national security team had been shown a classified report entitled 'Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States' he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken by our current president and his national security team."

Then what the hell is this?

Per the 9/11 Commisssion, on Dec. 4, 1998, President Clinton received a Presidential Daily Briefing titled "Bin Ladin Preparing to Hijack US Aircraft and Other Attacks."

And this?

"The Intelligence Community has strong indications that Bin Laden intends to conduct or sponsor attacks inside the United States."-Classified document signed by President Clinton in December 1998

Each time Bill and Hillary have lied, a piece of America has died.

Just go away, NOW!

Bob 2 Congress

Bob Hogue, pictured, is a former eastern Iowa sportscaster. In the early '80s Bob was sports anchor for KWWL TV.

He was also the first play-by-play guy for statewide Iowa Hawkeyes basketball. I believe his signature phrase was, "OH, MY!"

Bob ended up in Honolulu, Hawaii at KHON TV. He currently serves as a State Senator and is the Republican nominee for Congress in Hawaii's 2nd District.

That seat was vacated when Ed Case (D) lost his bid to oust Senator Daniel Akaka (D).

It'll be tough for Bob to get to Washington. Hawaii is a BIG Dummycrat state, although they do have a Republican Governor in Linda Lingle.

Hogue faces former Lt. Governor Mazie Hirono, who lost the governor's race to Linda Lingle.

Another Dummycrat, like Missouri's Claire McCaskill, not good enough to run their state so they try to inflict them on the rest of us by sending them to Washington.

Setting the Record Straight

The New York Post has an excellent editorial.

It comes after their meeting yesterday with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Excepts on the subject of Richard Clarke (pictured)...

Clarke told the commission a very different story during hours of private testimony behind closed doors - one that jibed with a 2002 background briefing he gave to reporters.

Back then, he said: "There was no plan on al Qaeda that was passed from the Clinton administration to the Bush administration. . . . [a] plan, strategy - there was no, nothing new."

Indeed, Clarke said, the Bush team in 2001 "changed the [Clinton] strategy from one of rollback [of] al Qaeda over five years to a new strategy that called for the rapid elimination of al Qaeda. That is in fact the timeline."

Bush, he added, took action on several "issues that had been on the table for a couple of years," such as instituting a new policy in Pakistan that convinced Islamabad "to break away from the Taliban" and boosting "CIA resources . . . for covert action five-fold to go after al Qaeda."

In fact, a 1999 Clarke after-action memo - the one top Clinton aide Sandy Berger later stole from the National Archives - identified national-security weaknesses so "glaring" that only sheer "luck" prevented a cataclysmic attack back then.

And, as Clarke told the 9/11 Commission publicly, there was nothing the Bush administration could have done that would have prevented the attacks.

Sure, he tells a different story now. But that, he admitted, is because of his opposition to the Iraq war, which he believes distracted from the War on Terror.

Secretary Rice was a lot more honest, explaining yesterday that there was no full-scale War on Terror "the way that we're fighting it now" - by either administration - before 9/11: "We just weren't organized as a country, either domestically or as a leader internationally."

The blame for 9/11 goes back fully 25 years, and includes both Democratic and Republican presidents.

At the same time, the Clinton years were bookended by al Qaeda bombings - the 1993 attack World Trade Center attack, and the October 2000 suicide assault on USS Cole - with plenty of blood spilled in between.

Clinton effectively slept through it all - and now he's trying to rewrite history.

It won't wash.

Not only does she take on Bubba, but she shows up Miss Perky too!

The Secretary of State told a meeting of the New York Post editors & reporters that "The notion somehow for eight months the Bush administration sat there and didn't do that is just flatly false - and I think the 9/11 commission understood that. What we did in the eight months was at least as aggressive as what the Clinton administration did in the preceding years."

also sharply disputed Clinton's claim that he "left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy" for the incoming Bush team during the presidential transition in 2001.

"We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al Qaeda."

She also said Clinton's claims that Richard Clarke - the White House anti-terror guru hyped by Clinton as the country's "best guy" - had been demoted by Bush were bogus.

"Richard Clarke was the counterterrorism czar when 9/11 happened. And he left when he did not become deputy director of homeland security, some several months later," she said.

Rice cited the final 9/11 commission report to substantiate her claims, while Clinton relied on Clarke's book as the basis for many of his rehashing the events leading up to the Sept. 11 attacks.

In an interview for '60 Minutes' Rice tells Couric....

"I'm a true believer in the process of democratization as a way to overcome old wounds. And I believe that if we don't do that, then people who have had their differences, people who have resolved their differences by violence or by repression, are never going to find a way to live peacefully together."

"Is it really priority number one in terms of philosophically and pragmatically for the United States to be spreading democracy around the world?" Couric asks.

"Well, first of all, the United States is not spreading democracy. The United States is standing with those who want a democratic future," Rice explains.

She rejects the notion that the U.S. is a bully, imposing its values on the world.

"What's wrong with assistance so that people can have their full and complete right to the very liberties and freedoms that we enjoy?" Rice asks.

"To quote my daughter, 'Who made us the boss of them?'" Couric remarks.

"Well, it's not the matter of being the boss of them. It's speaking for people who are voiceless," Rice says.

"You have said that your goal was, quote, 'To leave the world not just safer but better.' Right now Iraq doesn't seem safer," Couric remarks. "Iran and North Korea have not fallen into line. Do you honestly believe that the world is safer now?"

"The world is safer because we're finally confronting these terrorists. We're finally confronting this challenge," Rice says. "And so I think we are safer. We're not yet safe. And I know that I'm not going to see the final outcome of the Middle East that we described as democratic and prosperous and, in that way, truly stable. But all that I can do on my watch is to try to lay a foundation so that that will become the Middle East of the future. And I think we've done a great deal to begin to lay that foundation."

Couric quotes her daughter!?!

Who does she think she is Jimmah Carter talking nuclear proliferation with AMY?!?!

Chris and I watched the interview yesterday and nothing new, he made an ASS of himself.

I had seen him lose his temper when I was attending meetings in Denver, prior to Bubba securing the Democratic nomination in 1992, he responded to a rumor that Jesse Jackson was endorsing an opponent and went into the same hysterics.

To paraphrase Prince....Purple Rage, Purple Rage!

Ahoy Matey! That's A-Hoy Bill, Not a 'Ho

In light of the recent controversy involving Bubba, I had to share this e-mail I recently received.

US Navy welcomes the USS Bill Clinton
Vancouver, BC -- Headed for Seattle, Washington
The US Navy welcomed the latest member of its fleet today.

The USS William Jefferson Clinton (CVS1) set sail today from its home port of Vancouver, BC. The ship is the first of its kind in the Navy and is a standing legacy to President Bill Clinton "for his foresight in military budget cuts" and his conduct while president. The ship is constructed nearly entirely from recycled aluminum and is completely solar powered with a top speed of 5 knots. It boasts an arsenal comprised of one (unarmed) F-14 Tomcat or one (unarmed) FA-18 Hornet aircraft which, although they cannot be launched or captured on the 100 foot flight deck, form a very menacing presence.

As a standing order there are no firearms allowed on board. The 20 person crew is completely diverse and includes members of all races, creeds, sexes, and sexual orientations. This crew, like the crew aboard the USS Jimmy Carter, is specially trained to avoid conflicts and to appease all enemies of the United States.

An onboard DNC Universal Translator can send out messages of apology in any language to anyone who may find
offensive. The number of apologies are limitless and though some may sound hollow and disingenuous, the Navy advises all apologies will sound sincere.

In times of conflict, the USS William J. Clinton has orders to seek refuge in Canada. The ship also may be positioned near Democrat Party Headquarters for photo ops and can be used extensively for social experimentation, and whatever other worthless jobs the ex-commander-in-chief and his wife can think of.

It is rumored that the ship will be the set for the upcoming season of MTV's "The Real World". The ship was renamed and commissioned USS William J. Clinton when someone realized that USS Blowfish was already taken.

Madame President, not so fast Hillary

The Ragister's Iowa Poll continues to prove hostile to Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In June HRC placed 2nd to John Edwards in the poll of likely 2008 Iowa Caucus goers.

Today's poll had her losing to four Republicans in head to head competition....(Don't go there!).

Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Bill Frist would all defeat HRC.

Simply put, her negatives are too high.

Besides, the first female President will be a Republican!

Manly YES

This is Denise O'Brien, Dummycrat for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture.

Ms. O'Brien is obviously a graduate of the Patty Judge School of Feminity.

This is Patty Judge, current Iowa Secretary of Agriculture and Dummycrat for Lt. Governor, she enjoys being a girl!

Fact vs. Fiction

Bubba blew up in an interview with FOX News Channel's Chris Wallace, airing tomorrow on 'Fox News Sunday'.

Wallace irked BillyBob, by asking if he had done enough on his watch to hunt for Osama bin Laden.

"But at least I tried. That's the difference in me and some, including all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They had eight months to try, they did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed."

FACT: Clinton turned down Sudan's offer to hand over bin Laden in 1996.

Refusing the offer because, according to Bill in taped remarks February 15, 2002,
"(bin Laden) had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him."

Bubba did lob a few cruise missiles into a tent in Afghanistan in August 1988.

I believe that's why President Bush wanted to do more after 9-11 than lob a few missiles into a camel's ass.

Further from the FOX/Wallace interview....

"I authorized the CIA to get groups together to try to kill him," Clinton said. He added he had drawn up plans to go into Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban and launch an attack against bin Laden after the attack on the Cole in the Yemeni port of Aden.

"Now if you want to criticize me for one thing, you can criticize me for this: after the Cole, I had battle plans drawn to go into Afghanistan, overthrow the Taliban and launch a full-scale attack search for bin Laden. But we needed basing rights in Uzbekistan -- which we got after 9/11."

The former president complained the CIA and FBI refused to certify bin Laden was responsible for the USS Cole attack.

"While I was there, they refused to certify. So that meant I would have had to send a few hundred special forces in helicopters, refuel at night."

FACT: Per 'Losing Bin Laden' by Rich Miniter, here's what top Clinton officials thought about the USS Cole incident.
  • Attorney General Janet Reno "thought retaliation might violate international law and was therefore against it."

  • CIA Director George Tenet "wanted more definitive proof that bin Laden was behind the attack, although he personally thought he was."

  • Secretary of State Madeleine Albright "was concerned about the reaction of world opinion to a retaliation against Muslims and the impact it would have in the final days of the Clinton Middle East peace process."

  • Secretary of Defense William Cohen "did not consider the Cole attack 'sufficient provocation' for a military retaliation."

  • Bubba and the Dummycrats have been trying to rewrite history since he left office.

If his friends Hollywood friends Harry Thomason & Linda Bloodworth-Thomason are involved you know the mission is to make President Bush, 'The Fall Guy'.

    With friends like Harkin

CommieTommie Harkin gave President Bush a couple of backhanded slaps in his criticism of Che Junior, Hugo Chavez.

According to Radio Iowa..... Harkin said the comments were "incendiary", then went on to say, "Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies." Harkin continued what has been frequent criticism of the president's foreign policy.

Harkin says Bush came to office saying he wanted a new humility in foreign policy in reaching out to other countries, but Harkin says Bush's actual policy has been heavy handed. Harkin says the anger against Bush is generated from the Iraq war, which Harkin says was "unnecessary."

Unnecessary? Then why did you vote YEA?

Note: CommieTommie is represented as Quagmire from 'The Family Guy'

Harkin says, "We tend to forget that a few days after 9-1-1 thousands, thousands of Iranians marched in a candlelight procession in Teheran in support of the United States. Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that." Harkin says the U.S. has put billions of dollars into the Iraq war, when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education.

I remember Palistinians dancing in the streets , pictured, at the 9-11 attacks.

The Ragister provided CommieTommie ground cover saying Harkin was more critical of Chavez in an e-mail press release.

“While I understand the frustrations of many in the international community because of George W. Bush’s policies, I do not believe that gives them the right to come to our country and personally insult and attack the President of the United States.”

Tusk and Talon weigh in with....Embracing leftist scum dictators (please excuse the redundancy) is nothing new for Harkin, however. He has a long history of cozying up to the likes of Castro, Ortega and others. Frontpagemagazine did a lengthy feature on him back in 2004.
Here are some highlights from that article:

During Harkin’s 1982 re-election campaign, his opponent documented that this Democratic congressman had always voted against foreign aid for countries friendly to the U.S., but that Harkin had voted to give taxpayer money to Communist Vietnam, Communist Cuba, Communist Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Marxist Sandinista Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua and other Communist nations. When this came up in a broadcast debate, Harkin replied: “From now on, I am going to vote against all foreign aid.”

In 1982 CommieTommie was a Congressman, emphasis on the CON.

Back then I was calling him the Representative from Nicaragua.

It's been against my wildest wishes that he got as far as he did.

My friend Pat sent me this....

Here's a copy of an email I sent to Sen. Harkin today along with his email address in case you'd like to do the same. I know it won't do any good but it makes me feel better to tell that twit what I think of him.

    Senator Harkin:
I was embarrassed to be an Iowan yesterday when I read your remarks about Hugo Chavez' speech at the United Nations. It is stunning when the likes of Charles Rangel and Nancy Pelosi will stick up for our President when the head of a foreign nation calls him the devil, but you make an apologist statement about Chavez saying you can understand his frustration. Your remarks are being carried in several publications yesterday and today so the entire country can see your depth of disdain for the President. It is unfortunate that you seem to put your party's political goals above those the the nation's.

Normally I would, but I just received a reply this week to an e-mail I sent him months ago.

He's always late in his response, if he responds at all.

So, I'll use this blog as my way to tell "that twit" what I think of him too....and I don't have to be diplomatic.

Are videotaped beheadings covered by Geneva?

Excerpts from Ann Coulter's latest column.

Sen. John McCain along with Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. John Warner --want terrorists treated like Americans accused of crimes, with full access to classified information against them and a list of the undercover agents involved in their capture.

As Graham explained, he doesn't want procedures used against terrorists at Guantanamo "to become clubs to be used against our people."

Actually, clubs would be a step up from videotaped beheadings.

Or as The New York Times wrote in the original weasel talking points earlier this summer: "The Geneva Conventions protect Americans. If this country changes the rules, it's changing the rules for Americans taken prisoner abroad. That is far too high a price to pay so this administration can hang on to its misbegotten policies."

There hasn't been this much railing about the mistreatment of a hostage since Monica Lewinsky was served canapes at the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton Hotel while being detained by the FBI.

....But being nice to enemies is an idea that has never worked, no matter how many times liberals make us do it. It didn't work with the Soviet Union, Imperial Japan, Hitler or the North Vietnamese -- enemies notable for being more civilized than the Islamic savages we are at war with today.

By the way, how did the Geneva Conventions work out for McCain at the Hanoi Hilton?

.... It was this idiotic idea of being nice to predators that drove liberal crime policies in the '60s and '70s -- leading like night into day to unprecedented crime rates. Now these same liberal ninnies want to extend their tender mercies not just to rapists and murderers, but to Islamic terrorists.

....Instead of rewarding bad behavior, punish bad behavior. How many times does punishment have to work and coddling have to fail before we never have to hear again that if we treat terrorists well, the terrorists will treat our prisoners well?

Fortunately, history always begins this morning for liberals, so they can keep flogging the same idiotic idea that has never, ever worked: Be nice to our enemies and they will reward us with good behavior.

Never mind trusting liberals with national security. Never mind trusting them with raising kids. These people shouldn't even be allowed to own pets.

They got a name for the winners in the world

The New York Yankees lost to the Toronto Blue Jays last night 3-2, but won their 9th straight Eastern Division Title.

Thanks to the Minnesota Twins win over the Boston Red Sox, 8-2.

The next step for the Bronx Bombers is home field advantage in the playoffs. They can accomplish this with the best record in the American League.

The Yankees at 92-60 lead the Detroit Tigers at 91-61. Both have 10 games left in the regular season.

The Tigers have had the best record for most of the year.

Still to come....Derek Jeter, pictured, as A.L. M.V.P.?

    An OFFICIAL* World Series?

*Per Frank Miller, late Ragister cartoonist, an OFFICIAL World Series must include the New York Yankees.

    World Championship #27?

    That would be nice!

Putting my money where my mouth is

My Congressman is Tom Latham (R) and he's facing token opposition.

With that in mind I made political contributions to 3 Republicans I'd like to see in Congress.

The first is a seat being vacated by Jim Nussle's run for Governor.

Businessman Mike Whalen, Machine Shed Restaurant & Johnny's Italian Steakhouse, is attempting to keep Iowa's 1st District in the (R) column.

Next is Jeff Lamberti, working to gain a Dummycrat seat from Leonard BOZO-well. It's time to put Iowa's 3rd District in the (R) column and send the old gray mare out to DUD!

Finally, Diana Irey has the task of taking Pennsylvania's 12th District seat from Dummycrat Jack "Cut & Run" Murtha.

Murtha has stabbed the U.S. Military in the back and now has hopes of becoming Majority Leader, second only to Speaker Pelosi!

    For Chester, It's the PITS!

According to the Hotline blog, Dummycrat candidate for Governor Chester Culver has a fundraiser in D.C. tonight.

The $1,000 per person fund raiser is at the Georgetown home of Jim Johnson, who ran Walter Mondale's 1984 Presidential campaign and headed up John Kerry's search for a running mate in 2004.

Signing on to help the son-of-a- former-Senator as sponsors are; Senators Joe Biden (DE), Chris Dodd (CT) & John Kerry (MA). Former South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle and Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner.

Friend of Bill Clinton (FOB) Vernon Jordan is a sponsor too. Jordan was last heard of trying to buy off Monica Lewinsky with a job in New York City.

I'm not sure if it shows here, but this picture ran in Monday's Ragister and showed Culver (second from right) pitted out from his appearance at the CommieTommie Harkin love fest Sunday.

FYI, the temp at the time of this picture was probably 70 with a brisk breeze.

Swoosh,as they sweep it under the rug

The Pac 10 has apologized to Oklahoma University and has suspended, for 1 game, the officiating crew that worked Saturday's debacle in Eugene, Oregon.

(See 9/17... Suddenly I'm a fan of Pate & Foie Gras)

Sooner Coach Bob Stoops, finds it "absolutely inexcusable and unacceptable."

I don't think the penalty is nearly severe enough.

I personally have concerns for the integrity of the game and feel the NCAA needs to investigate.

Pac 10 officials are not league employees, but are contract employees.

Of major concern should be Oregon's cozy relationship with Nike and its founder Phil Knight.

Knight has given over $100 Million to Oregon athletics, better known as TEAM NIKE.

He has also contributed at least $50 Million to the University of Oregon. His ties to the Pac Ten are deep too, giving $105 Million to the Stanford School of Business.

Note that Oregon was upset about not receiving a BCS Bowl bid last football season and ended up losing in the Holiday Bowl to Oklahoma.

As Nike likes to say, JUST DO IT!

    From a land down under

Andrew Robb, pictured, is the Australian Parliament's Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.

He is Prime Minister John Howard Government's multicultural spokesman and had this to say this weekend to a conference of 100 Imams....

"We live in a world of terrorism where evil acts are being regularly perpetrated in the name of your faith and because it is your faith that is being invoked as justification for these evil acts, it is your problem".

"You can't wish it away, or ignore it, just because it has been caused by others.

"Instead, speak up and condemn terrorism, defend your role in the way of life that we all share here in Australia."

Robb told the Imams that unless Muslims took responsibility for their destiny and tackled the causes of terrorism, Australia would become divided.

Robb also stated these were tough times requiring great personal resolve and called on them to shun a victim mentality that branded any criticism as discrimination.

Finally Robb said it was important for migrants to learn English.

"I see as critical the need for imams to have effective English language skills -- it is a self-evident truth that a shared language is one of the foundations of national cohesion."

I'm sure Andrew Robb will be next on the Muslim religion of Peace "HIT" Parade.... #10 with a bullet or more likely a suicide bomber!

    Can you say SIZZLER?

    I'm grilling steak tonight!

It's my way to protest CommieTommie Harkin's annual steak fry and Dummycrat love fest (shudder).

Illinois Senator Barack Obama, pictured showing the thickness of my steak, is their featured guest.

Obama is testing the 2008 Presidential waters and he's also plugging a new book, 'The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream'.

    In the book Obama says,

"We Democrats are just, well, confused. Mainly, though, the Democratic Party has become the party of reaction. In reaction to a war that is ill-conceived, we appear suspicious of all military action.

"In reaction to those who proclaim the market can cure all ills, we resist efforts to use market principles to tackle pressing problems. In reaction to religious overreach, we equate tolerance with secularism, and forfeit the moral language that would help infuse our policies with a larger meaning."

It seems crystal clear to me.....You're Socialists!

Suddenly I'm a fan of Pate & Foie Gras

Upon further review, I'm going to take a break from College Football.

I had written on August 31 (Sports Best Time of the Year) that with the convergence of Major League Baseball Playoffs & World Series and with the emergence of College & Pro Football, "For me it's the best time of the year".

All that changed yesterday afternoon in the Oklahoma vs. Oregon football game, because of the MOST INEPT officiating I can recall witnessing. or was it?

After scoring a touchdown to bring the score to 33-27, The Ducks attempt an onside kick with 1:12 left. The officials say Oregon recovered, never mind that a Sooner player has the ball!

That's ok, I think, because they're going to review the play and the replay clearly shows an Oregon player touched the ball before it travelled the necessary ten yards. Oklahoma's ball and they can run out the clock.

Think again! After conferring with the review official, the referee announces an Oklahoma player "touched the ball". Awarding the ball to the Ducks.

Two plays later, Oregon throws an incomplete pass. The pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage, but the officials flag Oklahoma for pass interference.

That can't be because the ball was tipped! The officials say they'll review this call too....HA!

Oregon goes on to score and converts the extra point for a 34-33 lead. The Ducks block a late Sooner field goal for the win.

As it so happens, all the officials were from the Pac-10 Conference. Coincidentally, Oregon is a member of the Pac-10 and the game was played in Eugene, Oregon.

Phone lines are open at 1-800-SPIRACY!!

If it looks like a Duck and smells like a Duck....

Usually I would just let this wash, but I watched the officials rob Oklahoma of a win last year against Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.

In that case a Red Raider player was awarded a touchdown, as time ran out, after being tackled short of the end zone. Replays clearly showed his knee was down, then his arm, before he placed the ball in the end zone.

    Go(o)d Stuff, Maynard

A Baylor University study "found that Americans hold four different images of God".

    • Authoritarian God. Angry at earthly sin and willing to inflict divine retribution.

    • Distant God. A faceless, cosmic force that launched the world but leaves it alone.

    • Benevolent God. Sets absolute standards for man, but is also forgiving--engaged but not so angry.

    • Critical God. The classic bearded old man, judgmental but not going to intervene or punish.

    • The Wall Street Journal's Opinion Journal came up with these "Gods"...

  • Multitasking God. Answers prayers by phone, fax and BlackBerry, all at the same time.

  • Noncommittal God. Loves his children, but isn't "in love" with them.

  • They asked readers for their contributions...

    * Obsessive-compulsive God. Washes his hands of us hundreds of times a day.

    * Codependent God. Enables us to sin so that we'll need him.

Customer service God. "Press 1 for the Father, 2 for the Son, 3 for the Holy Spirit."

Liberal God. Commands man to "be fruitless and divide"; is completely self-absorbed yet doesn't believe in himself; wants you to stop sinning but doesn't have an alternative; can't stop yelling, "Satan lied, people died!"

Peace activist God. He's sending you to hell, but he supports the sinners!
    • Hertz Rent-a-God. He puts you in the driver's seat.

    • Avis Rent-a-God. He tries harder.

    • Enterprise Rent-a-God. He'll pick you up.

    • Visa God. He's everywhere you want him to be.

    • MasterGod. Priceless.

    • American Express God. Don't leave home without him.

    • Budweiser God. This God's for you.

    • Windows God. Plug and pray.

    • Google God. For those who are always searching.

    • Frugal God. Jesus saves.

    • Chairman God. Sets the agenda, but doesn't get involved in day-to-day operations.

    A little too Ironic

From The Washington Times/Inside Politics column....

Some Republicans on Capitol Hill found it ironic that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi held a "national-security" press conference this week that featured former President Jimmy Carter's national security adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski.

...."The war in Iraq not only is going badly, politically as well as militarily, but it has already elevated Iran into the principal geopolitical force in the region," Mr. Brzezinski said.

...."It strains the limit of humor to hear the foreign-policy elite of the Democratic Party attempt to blame George W. Bush for enabling Iran to become a global menace," said the chairman of the House International Relations Committee, Rep. Henry J. Hyde of Illinois. "For it was a Democratic president, Jimmy Carter, who presided over the seizure of power in Tehran by Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979, with a mixture of ineptitude and admiration. And it was Carter's national-security adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, who oversaw this disastrous foreign policy."

Mr. Hyde recalled the subsequent Iranian hostage crisis and said that the soft policy of appeasement continued under President Clinton.

"When it comes to foreign policy, at least the Democrats have the virtue of consistency," he said. "Unfortunately, they have been consistently wrong for as long as I can remember."

Brzezinski's daughter Mika works for CBS News.

    The View from ABC Broadcasting

They'll give Rosie O'Donnell an open forum to fling dung at Christianity, but they can't find time to carry all of President Bush's news conference.

They cut away, over 15 minutes early, to Kate Snow and George Stephanopoulos giving their interpretation of the President's remarks. They then returned to regular programming, in this case local news on Channel 5.

NBC, CBS, FOX, MSNBC & CNN all stayed with the President.

I didn't catch the whole news conference, but the President was in command! You can tell he gets annoyed with these media morons!!

He put NBC's David Gregory in his place, back on his butt with his mouth closed. If Gregory had any sense he'd be embarrassed by his pompous actions.

He did have a funny exchange with a New York Times reporter. I'll paraphrase...

GWB: Did you say Hi Mr. President, that's pretty friendly.

    NYT: We're a friendly newspaper.

GWB: Yeah.......Let me put it this way, I'd hate to see UN-friendly!

    Shooting your mouth off

...And inflicting wounds on yourself won't get you another Purple Heart Senator!

John Kerry in a Washington Examiner aticle titled, Meet the Next President: Kerry's Second Shot....

“I think I’d be a good president,” he adds, sitting on the wraparound porch of an old house in Keene. “I don’t care what the dominant, conventional wisdom is today; it will not be the dominant, conventional wisdom in a year.”

“We are making a mistake if we put up candidates that are only competitive in 16 states, and then we roll the dice and hope we win Ohio or Florida,” says former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner, another Democrat eyeing the White House.

“I would say the same thing,” he says. “If I were lucky enough to do it again, I’m going to make sure we’re campaigning in way more states.”

Kerry says the only reason he didn’t compete in more states in 2004 was that he ran out of money. He says this was also the reason he did not adequately respond to a series of devastating TV ads by Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth, a group that questioned Kerry’s service in Vietnam and criticized his later opposition to the war.

“They had money behind the lies, and we did not have sufficient money behind the truth,” Kerry laments.

That's funny Senator Kerry it was known after the 2004 election your campaign had a SURPLUS!

The New York Times reported you had more than $14 Million in one account and I've seen reports that there was as much as $44 Million!!

    As for the "SWIFTIES"

In December 2004 Your Campaign Director Mary Beth Cahill, at a Kennedy School of Government forum, called their initial media buy...."the best $40,000 investment ever made by any political group".

At that same forum Cahill alluded to the real reason you ignored the "SWIFTIES". The Kerry campaign thought that the SwiftVet ads would receive little news coverage, and thus that the ads would have no reach.

    More from the Examiner....

Asked if he dreads the prospect of being “Swift-Boated” all over again, Kerry counters that he would relish such a fight.

“I’m prepared to kick their ass from one end of America to the other,” he declares. “I am so confident of my abilities to address that and to demolish it and to even turn it into a positive.”

Kerry’s tough talk triggers laughter from John O’Neill, a fellow Vietnam veteran who helped found Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth and wrote a blistering 2004 book on Kerry, “Unfit for Command.”

“Well, he’s got eight times as much time to prepare for us as he spent in Vietnam,” says O’Neill, referring to Kerry’s short tour of duty.

    Well said Mr. O'Neill!

This nation, once again, owes you a debt of grattitude for your service in VietNam and in the 2004 campaign!!
