It's only Tuesday, but Iowa Dummycrat Senator Rob Boss Hogg (pictured) makes his second appearance this week on our blog.

Boss Hogg is proposing a “Branstad Rule” for Iowa's Tax System because Governor Branstad had a $52 state income tax bill for 2011.

The $52 state income tax was an anomaly, the governor’s staff said. Branstad paid $62,831 in federal income taxes in 2010 and that amount is deductible on his 2011 state tax return. Since his 2011 income is much lower, the deduction substantially reduced his state tax liability, they said.

In an effort to score political points, and hurt one person, Hogg is talking about ending the state tax break that lets Iowans deduct what they paid in federal taxes before calculating their Iowa income tax liability.

The name ROB is apropos and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Iowa Dummycrats tried ending Federal Deductibility in 2009, but individuals (even middle and lower income taxpayers)would have seen their taxes increase.

Hey Lawyerman, release your tax returns so we can see what you pay.

Like pigs to the slaughter, some Iowa Dummycrats are wanting Staci Appel-sauce for brains to run for Congress against Tom Latham.

Proving my apple sauce for brains theory, and the scientific community is united in that fact, Staci said...

“I’m still very seriously considering it”.

Ed Skinner, described as a party godfather, believes Appel is the person who can beat Latham.

Dummycrat strategist Jeff Link said, “It will take a candidate of Appel’s caliber to make this a competitive race”.

Color these Dummycrats delusional as it will be about as competitive as their three previous high quality female candidates; Becky Greenwald (who lost to Latham by 21 points in 2008), Rozanne, err Taxanne Conlin (who lost to Chuck Grassley by 31 points in 2010) and Christie Vilsack (who lost to Steve King by 8 points in 2012).

Appel thinks her Iowa Senate accomplishments(?) of extension of health care coverage to Iowa children, the 4-year-old preschool program, a ban on smoking in restaurants and bars, and an increase in the minimum wage.

Don't forget Staci, you wanted an end to Federal Deductibility, your scheme to award Iowa's Electoral College votes to whichever candidate receives the most popular votes nationwide, regardless of who carries the state, the debt you saddled taxpayers with because of the borrowing scam known as I-JOBS and your sponsorship of the bill (SF193) that helped create the IDED tax credit film office fiasco.

The Ragister's Jennifer Jacobs filed this story and her original report (preserved by me) said "Appel took out a 10-year Republican incumbent, Julian Garrett, an Indianola attorney and farmer who had represented the district for nearly a decade".

Someone later cleaned up the report-errs as it was an open seat (incumbent Doug Shull had sought election as State Representative against Mark Davitt) which Garrett had not previously represented.

My State Senator, Staci Appel-Sauce-for-brains (D-Ackworth), keeps harping on many of the richest Iowans and some powerful special interests.

Saying, They are frantically using emails, commercials and other venues to blanket Iowa with misinformation and half-truths.

The half-truths and misinformation are coming from the Dummycrats who seem hellbent on rushing this through.

In 2009, when Staci Appel-sauce for brains was my State Senator, I contacted her about the Dummycrats desire to end Federal Deductibility (Very Taxing).

One of the downsides of that contact was that Staci took that to mean she could add me to her e-mail list and send me her propaganda...err newsletter.

Four years later, Staci has purloined that list from the State of Iowa and is using it to send me fundraising e-mails about her CONgressional campaign against Tom Latham.

I've received 26 such unsolicited fundraising e-mails since July, some from Staci, some from Loretta Sackey, Ben Miller, Nathan Arentsen, Louis Frankel, Paul Begala, Steve Israel and Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi wishes "she could have more leaders like Staci in Congress", by that she must mean mindless drones and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The House Minority Leader showed her leadership by being absent for Saturday's House vote on the Continuing Resolution.

Pelosi also urged me to "chip in $3" before today's "critical fundraising deadline".

Pelosi must not have a lot of faith, Staci's e-mails ask for $5.

Congressional candidates face deadline, seek cash

One of the e-mails from Staci stated, "Not sure if you knew this -- but, in 167 years, Iowa has failed to send a woman to Congress to represent them".

Iowa has been a state for nearly 167 years, but the first woman in Congress was a Republican elected 97 years ago.

For most Women, they've only had the right to vote for 93 years.

Current fundraising reports show Appel with $0.

I've given and will continue to give $0, because Staci Appel remains a zero to me.

Gronstal

I'm not sure if it sounds like someplace you go to take a dump, the sound you make while taking a dump, or what you flush.

Looks like for the Iowa Senate Majority Leader (pictured) it's all of the above and the scientific community is united in that fact.

From both ends of the state Mike Gronstal is making news.

On federal deductibility the Sioux City Journal reports Gronstal says...

"Three-quarters of Iowans end up with the same deal or a better deal under this tax plan."

For Dummycrats, when it comes to taxes, the "same deal" is a good one.

Will the 173,821 Iowans that are getting the same deal, while other Iowans are getting a tax cut, think that's a good thing?

I would wonder why I'm getting screwed.

Dummycrats keep trying to sell this as middle class tax cut, but over 305,000 Iowans making under $125,000 will see a tax increase.

Out of Cedar Rapids and the Gazette's coveringiowapolitics.com, Gronstal said the Governor's$750 million bonding plan “is an absolutely on our list.”

My State Senator , Staci Appel, had an editorial in the Indianola Record and Old Weird Harold regarding Federal Deductibility (which is not in their online version) and she asked people to contact her.

I jotted her an e-mail stating my opposition and that she, nor I truly knew who would see a tax cut vs. a tax increase.

I was surprised to receive a reply, she hasn't bothered in the past, and she toed the party line about middle class tax cuts (which was exactly verbatim as her editorial).

She also said...

Unfortunately, this middle-class tax cut is vigorously opposed by many of the richest Iowans and some powerful special interests. They are frantically using emails, commercials and other venues to blanket Iowa with misinformation and half-truths.

That angered me so I replied to her reply...

I am one of the 96% in your district that make $125,000 or less.

In your editorial for the Indianola paper you invited constituent contact, why when you had already made up your mind?

The ones who are not telling the truth are statehouse democrats who tried to sneak this by in the last weeks of the session and lied when they tried to sell it as a middle class tax cut.

The top rate, and the tax increase, kicks in at $63,350.

Plus, don't try to lump the few who see no increase or decrease in with those who might see a reduction.

As for the reduction in tax rates, that doesn't matter if taxes go up.

According to the Department of Revenue 39,294 taxpayers in my income bracket will see a reduction of $225.14 and 32,566 taxpayers will see an increase of $177.42

That's hardly fair and what's worse is I don't know which group I'll fall in, you don't know and my CPA doesn't know.

She says the rates on local businesses will rise significantly.

Raising taxes in a recession is lunacy and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Shame on Pat Murphy(Dummycrat/Dubuque) for not speaking out about the rowdiness of the peanut gallery, in the Iowa House balconies, during last week's collective bargaining vote.

Murphy was as silent as the House switchboard on a Friday, and the scientific community is united in that fact, when his political allies screamed “shame” and erupted in applause and cheers.

It was nearly two years ago when the then Speaker had troopers escort citizens out of the House galleries for what he described as a lack of decorum.

At the time Murphy said, “This is not an athletic event where you cheer for the home team and you jeer and boo against people you don’t agree with.”

Unlike the collective bargaining bill, the elimination of federal tax deductibility actually had a chance of passage by the Legislature.

Maybe this St. Patty's week, Murphy can douse his Irish temper.
