Maybe it's because she was in Iowa City, the capitol of the People's Republic of Johnson County, that caused Kansas Governor Kathleen See Bilious to utter her bile.

She accused Republicans of using "code language" to convince Midwestern voters that Obama is an unworthy choice for president.

The article doesn't state what the "code language" is, but the See Bilious one said...

"Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American?" she asked with sarcasm. "(Republicans) are not going to go lightly into the darkness."

The only ones who are playing the race card are the Dummycrats, Obama himself and the media.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

The See Bilious one tried to tie a former McCain adviser, Phil Gramm, into recent economic woes...

"(Gramm) is the author of a lot of the chaos you're seeing."

As James Taranto points out a CO-author was then-Rep. Jim Leach of Iowa, is a co-founder of Republicans for Obama. If he has had second thoughts about banking deregulation, he did not mention them in his Democratic Convention speech.

Taranto also notes that Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, voted for the measure and it was signed into law by Bill Clinton.

It should also be noted that Obama's national finance chair is partially responsible for one of the greater banking collapses in American history.

Penny Pritzker, and family, were half owner's of Superior Bank, which was shut down in 2001 by the FDIC after it had lost nearly all of its more than $2 billion of assets on bad loans to high-risk borrowers.

To sum up: The New York Times reports that a new book reports that unnamed sources reported to the author that a report exists that says terrorists reported being tortured.

That is, not only are we being asked to take the word of terrorists--whose training material instructs them to claim they have been tortured--but we are being asked to trust terrorists' claims that are reaching us fifth-hand (or fourth-hand if you spend $27.50 for the book). It's a big game of telephone.

And we thought the New York Times was against listening to terrorists' phone conversations.

Measure Twice

President Obama announced his clean-energy initiatives, at a Home Depot, that will help create more than 700,000 jobs and allow the U.S. to double its renewable-power generation in three years.

That's according to a memorandum from his Veep Joe Biden.

All of the job estimates used in this document correspond to jobs that last for one year. Of course, some jobs could last longer--in this case the number of distinct jobs would be reduced proportionately. For example, a project that employs one person for two years would count as creating two jobs.

Howie Long appears in a commercial where he states...don't blame the carpenter, blame the tool.

In this case the carpenter, Biden, is the tool and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Dave No sack, err Loebsack voted "present" on a House Resolution 560...

Expressing support for all Iranian citizens who embrace the values of freedom, human rights, civil liberties, and rule of law, and for other purposes.

The Resolution passed 405-1 with two votes "present".

That's showing some testicular fortitude Dave and the scientific community is united in that fact.

The lone "nay" vote came from the leader of the Ron Paul Devolution, Ron Paul.

CommieTommie Harkin co-sponsored Senate Concurrent Resolution 26 that apologized for slavery.

Said Harkin, "You wonder why we didn't do it 100 years ago."

Interesting comment from a man who has been in the Senate for 25 years and a member of the House for 10 years prior to that.

Especially interesting in lieu of his staff relating that the senator was surprised to learn in 2007 that Congress had not formally apologized.

I find it ironic that Ted Kennedy would have a water dog, let alone several.

Cowardly Liar

Gotta love how CommieTommie Harkin is taken to task for his latest hit job on John McCain.

In a piece titled, Goldilocks Gets Drafted, James Taranto tells...

In 2004 Sen. Tom Harkin attacked Vice President Cheney for not having served in Vietnam, as a Wall Street Journal editorial noted:

The Iowa Senator lashed out at Dick Cheney, claiming the Vice President had no right to criticize [John] Kerry's policies for the war on terror because Mr. Cheney had a deferment back then: "When I hear this coming from Dick Cheney, who was a coward, who would not serve during the Vietnam War, it makes my blood boil."

Four years later the Republicans are poised to nominate a genuine Vietnam War hero, while the Democratic nominee will be someone who evaded the draft by virtue of having been born either in 1961 or female. And the Des Moines Register reports Harkin is attacking John McCain for having served:

"I think he's trapped in that," Harkin said in a conference call with Iowa reporters. "Everything is looked at from his life experiences, from always having been in the military, and I think that can be pretty dangerous."

Harkin said that "it's one thing to have been drafted and served, but another thing when you come from generations of military people and that's just how you're steeped, how you've learned, how you've grown up."

As that Journal editorial noted, Harkin himself has falsely claimed to have served in combat in Vietnam. Which may explain his Goldilocks approach to military service:

John McCain is too hard.

Dick Cheney is too soft.

John Kerry** is just right.

** Who served in Vietnam for a few weeks, then returned stateside and slandered his fellow veterans.

It is not the first time CommieTommie has slandered John McCain or his military service.

Kennedy's & VietNam

I've always been silently amused when Kopechne Killer Kennedy rants about President Bush & Iraq.

Especially when he wants to call it Bush's VietNam!

It was his idol brother Jack who escalated American involvement in that country by increasing military "advisors", involving Special Forces and finally regular military.

JFK also allowed for napalm & defoliants and free fire zones.

I almost forgot his complicity in the overthrow of the duly elected government of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem, probably in Diem's subsequent murder too.

Today I came across an excellent column by Jeff Jacoby that takes Kopechne Killer to task for his complicity in the downfall of VietNam.

Bush played no role in the fall of South Vietnam and Cambodia to the Communists in 1975, of course.

But Kennedy did.

He helped lead the congressional drive to cut off financial aid to the pro-American governments in Saigon and Phnom Penh, brushing aside President Gerald Ford's warning that "the horror and the tragedy that we see on television" would only grow worse if America deserted its allies.

But Kennedy and the Democrats spurned Ford's request, and the result was unspeakable agony -- Cambodia's killing fields, Vietnam's re-education camps, waves of "boat people" hurling themselves into the sea. Having seen the results of US abandonment in Indochina, how can Kennedy advocate the same policy in Iraq?

To me it's simple....whether at Chappaquiddick, VietNam or Iraq all Kopechne Killer Kennedy know's is RUN AWAY!

Humor is the BEST Medicine

I took my mother to her oncologist today. For over the last year she's been treated for a re-occurrence of breast cancer, 14 years after the original occurrence. It's been a rough go for her, but she continues on.

One of the reasons she's still alive is the treatment of Dr. Bob Shreck. The man is an excellent doctor and has a great personality.

He found out today she's leaving Saturday for a week in Cap Cod.

He laughed and told her to get ready to pay, they don't call it TAX- a-chusetts for nothing.

He told her besides sales tax, she'd be paying a beach tax and after the third day there's a tax you pay for just being there.

He said his daughter & son-in-law lived there for a year and a half and it turned them into Republicans, he never thought THAT would happen.

I chimed in with, you know it's a COMMONWEALTH! You have to have the WEALTH of a Kennedy to LIVE there.

My mother is Irish Catholic and of the generation that adored John F. Kennedy, not so much Bobby or Ted. I'm sure she still votes Dummycrat.

It might be different if my dad were still around. Though he was a first generation Italian-American, and a Democrat, even after Watergate he would still proudly tell people he voted for Nixon...TWICE!

I registered as a Republican when I turned 18, it was my rebellion! I adore Ronald Reagan!!

Speaking of Kennedy's, I came across this recently in The Washington Times/Inside the Beltway column....

"Mission impossible." That's how Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, is now referring to the U.S. war effort in Iraq.

Calling for voters to elect Democrats this fall, Mr. Kennedy says President Bush's "stay the course" strategy in Iraq has failed, and he wants U.S. troops withdrawn from the bloody conflict immediately. Until then, "President Bush continues to whistle past the graveyard." (My emphasis)

I guess he's an expert on that!

Astonishingly, a DOUBLE Standard

Governor Mitt Romney, Republican (MA), caused a media stink when in Iowa last weekend. He referred to the "Big Dig" in his state as a "TAR BABY".

James Taranto in his Best of the Web column for the Wall Street Journal's OpinionJournal received examples of others use of "TAR BABY".

• The Boston Globe has used the term in at least two editorials, reports the Boston Herald's Victoria Buckingham: " In a 1994 editorial, the Globe described U.S. dealings with Iran as resembling a 'tar baby' and even articulated the term's assumed meaning in a 1998 editorial on China's censoring of the Internet: 'The Communist rulers of Beijing ended last year tangling with a tar baby. The tar baby--passive, sticky and invincible--was played by the Internet, which the leaders want to censor.' " (The Herald also referred to the Big Dig as a "tar baby" in a 2004 editorial.)
  
  
• Ditzy left-wing columnist Molly Ivins wrote in October 2001, "It now looks, with 20-20 hindsight, as though he should have taken a few more deep breaths before smacking that tar-baby that is Afghanistan."

Also, Toni Morrison penned a book titled, TAR BABY. Tony Snow took some heat for his use of the term, naturally he serves a Republican, but not a peep about the others.

Then to see this picture of Senator Joe Lieberman, with Bill Clinton, doctored to put him in blackface. The doctoring was done by Jane Hamsher and was posted, but removed, from Huffingtonpost.com

Hamsher is a Hollywood producer and fiberal blogger. She moved to Connecticut to support Ned Lamont over Lieberman in that Dummycrat primary.

Where's the outrage? Where's Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, oops they're in Connecticut working for Ned Lamont.
