As someone who makes fun of others, usually by name calling, it's hard for me to be "faux"raged by others speech.

Ann Coulter, shockingly, upset many when she said this at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC)...

I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot - so… Kind of at an impasse. Can’t really talk about Edwards, so I think I’ll just conclude here and take your questions.

There was wide spread "faux"rage on many blogs, conservative and fiberal.

I have yet to see the same "rage" on fiberal blogs for leftists sadness over the failed assassination attempt on Vice President Cheney.

Most were put on the Huffington Post, but Bill Maher aired his on his HBO show "Real Time...

Maher: What about the people who got onto the Huffington Post – and these weren’t even the bloggers, these were just the comments section – who said they, they expressed regret that the attack on Dick Cheney failed.

Joe Scarborough: Right.

Maher: Now…

John Ridley: More than regret.

Maher: Well, what did they say?

Ridley: They said “We wish he would die.” I mean, it was (?) hate language.

Barney Frank: They said the bomb was wasted. (laughter and applause)

Maher: That’s a funny joke. But, seriously, if this isn’t China, shouldn’t you be able to say that?...

Ridley: It’s one thing to say you hate Dick Cheney, which applies to his politics. It’s another thing to say, “I’m sorry he didn’t die in an explosion." And I think, you know…

Maher: But you should be able to say it. And by the way...

Frank: Excuse me, Bill, but can I ask you a question? Do you decide what the topics are for this show?

Maher: Yeah, I decide the topics, they don’t go there.

Frank: But you exercise control over the show the way that she does over her blog.

Maher: But I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power, people wouldn’t be dying needlessly tomorrow. (applause)

Scarborough: If someone on this panel said that they wished that Dick Cheney had been blown up, and you didn’t say…

Frank: I think he did.

Scarborough: Okay. Did you say…

Maher: No, no. I quoted that.

Frank: You don’t believe that?

Maher: I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.

If you can generate "rage" over a slur that came out of a feeble attempt at humor, you can generate the same "rage" over wishing someone dead!

John Edwards had this to say about Coulter's comments...

"I think its important that we not reward hateful, selfish, childish behavior with attention. I also believe that is important for all of us to speak out against language of this kind; it is the place where hatred gets its foothold, and we can't stand silently by and allow this kind of language to be used."

I couldn't find any quotes from Edwards about those wishing death on Dick Cheney!

Personally, I think you lose the high ground, or any "faux" rage when you sully it with a fund raising attempt...

In a mass email sent to supporters today, Edwards Campaign Manager David Bonoir argued that "this is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine is gearing up to throw at us" and set a fundraising goal of $100,000 this week.

Bonoir also called the comments "one of the worst moments in American politics I've seen."

I also found amusing that Bonoir was so "faux" raged "I can't bring myself to even repeat her comments" but tells supporters "you actually have to see for yourself to believe it."

The mantra of the '90s continues, I'm offended by...(insert offense here).

The reality remains that they believe in freedom of speech, as long as you agree with what I'm saying.

Gotta love how CommieTommie Harkin is taken to task for his latest hit job on John McCain.

In 2004 Sen. Tom Harkin attacked Vice President Cheney for not having served in Vietnam, as a Wall Street Journal editorial noted:

The Iowa Senator lashed out at Dick Cheney, claiming the Vice President had no right to criticize [John] Kerry's policies for the war on terror because Mr. Cheney had a deferment back then: "When I hear this coming from Dick Cheney, who was a coward, who would not serve during the Vietnam War, it makes my blood boil."

Four years later the Republicans are poised to nominate a genuine Vietnam War hero, while the Democratic nominee will be someone who evaded the draft by virtue of having been born either in 1961 or female. And the Des Moines Register reports Harkin is attacking John McCain for having served:

"I think he's trapped in that," Harkin said in a conference call with Iowa reporters. "Everything is looked at from his life experiences, from always having been in the military, and I think that can be pretty dangerous."

Harkin said that "it's one thing to have been drafted and served, but another thing when you come from generations of military people and that's just how you're steeped, how you've learned, how you've grown up."

As that Journal editorial noted, Harkin himself has falsely claimed to have served in combat in Vietnam. Which may explain his Goldilocks approach to military service:

John McCain is too hard.

Dick Cheney is too soft.

John Kerry** is just right.

** Who served in Vietnam for a few weeks, then returned stateside and slandered his fellow veterans.

It is not the first time CommieTommie has slandered John McCain or his military service.

Dodd thinks its a bad idea for purely political reasons...

Dodd is correct, to a point.

So McClatchy/Tribune Information Services photo editor George Bridges used the latest digital technology to enlarge the picture, took a close look at Cheney's sunglasses and concluded that Mitchell was telling the truth.

The image is of the vice president's hand on his fly rod.

"In one lens of his sunglasses you can clearly tell it is a sleeved arm of Cheney or a fishing companion. The other lens has an extreme distortion that, without looking at it closely, could be misconstrued," said investigative photo editor Bridges.

Could be why recently Barry has even expressed an interest in learning to fly fish.

The Constitution is explicit".

The Constitution is explicit...the Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate.

"The only authority the vice president has from the legislative standpoint is the vote, only when there is a tie vote. He has no authority relative to the Congress. The idea he's part of the Legislative Branch is a bizarre notion invented by Cheney to aggrandize the power of a unitary executive..."

Joe, there you go again!

The Constitution, though, actually says the vice president is always president of the Senate and legal scholars say he has the right to preside at any time. Early vice presidents, such as Thomas Jefferson, actively exercised that role, the vice president still keeps offices at the Capitol, and scholars say it wasn't until the middle of the 20th century that the vice president had an office at the executive office building.

Dr. Steve Kagen was elected to Congress from Appleton, Wisconsin and is full of....oh, let's just say bravado of self (b.s.).

Kagen came back from his freshman orientation and b.s.'d a group of local peace activists about his meeting with Karl Rove, Vice President Cheney and President Bush.

Someone in attendance recorded the meeting and put it on a blog, The Scene.

Kagen said his encounter with Rove was in a small White House bathroom....

After Rove washed his hands (“At least he’s a hand washer,” Kagen said), he attempted to leave, but Kagen prevented his departure by holding the door closed and said, “You’re in the White House and you think your safe, huh? You recognize me? My name’s Dr. Multimillionaire and I kicked your ass.”

Kagen expected to make Rove squirm, but said acted like it was a tennis match and simply said, ‘Oh, congratulations.’

“We’re walking up these long steps, I stopped him and said, ‘Look, the race is over. We’re here to do the people’s business. I want you to join me on something, but you can’t steal it, I’ve got the trademark, ‘No patient left behind.’ He goes, ‘I like the sound of that.’

...We get to the top of the steps and there’s Vice President Cheney with a glass of white wine and a hand in his pocket. So I wasn’t going to miss this opportunity.

‘Mr. Vice President, thank you for your service to the nation, and thank you so much for coming to Green Bay and campaigning against me. I couldn’t have won without your help.’

He said Bush gave one of his smiles and said, ‘I’ve lost a lot of money in my life, too.’ Then I go to his wife, ‘Hi Barbara, how are ya?’ I did that because I learned on the campaign that the meanest thing you can say to another gentlemen is, ‘he’s a fine fellow,’ and you then refer to his spouse by a different name.”

Word got back to the White House about Kagen's b.s. and a source told the Oshkosh Northwestern the story..."is not the way it happened at all. He did not call the first lady Barbara. He did not block the door to the men's room."

It appears now the CONgressman may not be sticking to his story...he won't comment on whether he referred to Laura Bush as Barbara.

"I'm going to leave that one alone," Kagen said. Asked why, he said, "I'll make no comment."

As for his exchange with Rove, Kagen said he can verify that they met in the men's room and that Rove congratulated him. But he wouldn't comment on his reported comments to Rove.

The Congressman's b.s. is now, per the A.P., biting him in the behind.

Federal health officials have warned freshman Rep. Steve Kagen that his Wisconsin allergy practice is in apparent violation of federal law for manufacturing and selling allergy shots without a valid license.

According to a letter sent to Kagen by the Food and Drug Administration, Kagen manufactured a variety of ragweed and grass allergen vaccines from commercially distributed pollen and sold the shots to patients at his clinic and in at least 24 other states.

The FDA letter, which was dated Dec. 18 but wasn't posted online until Thursday, said that Kagen, D-Wis., did not have a valid license required for introducing a biological product into interstate commerce.

...The letter does not make reference to any action it is contemplating against Kagen, but says that it is Kagen's responsibility to make sure products marketed by his firm are in compliance with federal laws and regulations.

I think the next time Congressman Kagen is in the White House he'll watch where he relieves himself.

Damon's shilling for a new movie, "The Good Shepherd", he made with such staunch patriots as Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, William Hurt and John Turturro.

Damon: ....I agree with Bob that it's a complex question. It would depend on certain situations. I mean, I don't think that it's fair, as I said before that it seems that we have a fighting class in our country that's comprised of people who have to go for either financial reasons or you know, I don't think that that is fair. And if you're going to send people to war, if we all get together and decide we need to go to war, then that needs to be shared by everybody, you know. And if the president has daughters who are of age, then maybe they should go to.

So, Demon...oops Damon can question Vice President Cheney's lack of military service and his personal courage. He tells us we need a shared sense of sacrifice and that needs to be shared by everybody. However, he finds the question of his serving to be complex, but is willing to sacrifice the President's daughters.

Ironically this comes from a man who recently claimed, "I am very optimistic about -- about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration."

History shows Obama and Biden both opposed the Iraq war and its tactics and predicted their failure.

Eighth year University of Iowa Senior David Goodner, 26, is bragging about the role young people are playing in the peace movement.

Goodner cites an Associated Press article about a protest against corporate devil Haliburton (once led by Darth Cheney) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The only quote from the protesters is a 37 year old!

Dennis Kook-cinich and the Kook-ettes failed to impeach Darth Cheney.

Dummycrat House Leaders tried to table his resolution, which would have sent it off to oblivion, but on a 218-194 vote, they had to settle on referring it to the Judiciary Committee where it will never see the light of day.

Wait, it turns out Harkin said those things about Vice President Dick Cheney, but I'm sure being an honorable man (snicker) CommieTommie would want to be consistent with his views and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Every once in awhile you hear how some fiberal is fit to be tied about how someone can't support the war if they didn't serve.

They deride Dick Cheney or Rush Limbaugh for deferments.

They'll piss and moan about the Bush twins not serving in Iraq.

I guess I missed Chelsea Clinton's exemplary military record in Operation Desert Fox and Operation Allied Force ,that were engineered by Bubba, and the scientific community is united in that fact.

It's interesting that fiberals can't wrap their brains around the fact that military service is a choice, just like abortion, and the government doesn't have a right to make decisions about your body.

With that in mind let's look at the military service of your Dummycrat candidates for President...

Hillary Rodham Clinton: None.

Barack Obama: None.

John Edwards: None.

Bill Richardson of New Mexico: None. Received student and medical classifications.

Joe Biden: None. Rejected for medical reasons, but would have been eligible in a national emergency.

Chris Dodd: Army Reserve.

Dennis Kucinich: None. Was rejected for military service because of a heart murmur.

Mike Gravel:Enlisted United States Army.

Therefore, only Dodd and Gravel are qualified to make decisions regarding the United States Military and could serve as the Commander in Chief.
