Bush's Decency Highlights Democrats Incivility

This is an excellent read from a former fiberal.

One of the first things George W. Bush did after his inauguration on January, 2001, was invite Senator Edward M. Kennedy - along with his entire family - to the White House for a special screening of "13 Days," the hagiographic dramatization of Kennedy's brothers John and Robert's handling of the Cuban Missile Crises. Bush, famous for his bipartisan outreach during his eight years as governor of Texas (where he garnered 69 percent of the votes in his 1998 reelection), was beginning his presidency by reaching out again.

The symbolism could not have been more obvious. With the newly elected "compassionate conservative" hosting the aging lion of liberalism, Bush was keeping a campaign promise to be a "uniter, not a divider" and taking the first step to, as he promised, "return dignity" to the office.
Soon after, Bush pushed his attempts to unify America beyond symbolism by inviting Kennedy, the quintessential liberal and a longtime advocate of education reform, to the White House again, this time as a full partner in drafting the vital "No Child Left Behind" legislation.
Two years later, Kennedy repaid the president's generosity of spirit and action by taking the floor of the U.S. Senate to accuse him of being a liar by claiming that Bush had "cooked up the war (against Saddam Hussein's regime) in Texas." While Kennedy had every right to voice his passionate dissent of the war, his incivility toward the president stood in stark contrast to Mr. Bush's high-mindedness. When asked to respond to Senator Kennedy's no-holds-barred, no-proof-required attack, President Bush said, "I don't think we're serving our nation well by allowing the discourse to become so uncivil." The styles could not be more obvious: it was class versus crass.

It wouldn't be the only time prominent Democrats behaved rudely toward a president who treated them with respect. On June 14, 2004, President and Mrs. Bush invited Bill and Hillary Clinton to the unveiling of their portraits in the East Room of the White House. A few excerpts of the president's welcoming address once again show Bush to be a man with a warm heart and generous spirit:

"President Clinton and Senator Clinton, welcome home. It's great to see Chelsea. The fact that you survived your teenage years in the White House... speaks to the fact you had a great mom and dad. Thank you all for coming back...We're really glad you're here. As you might know, my father and I have decided to call each other by numbers. He's 41, I'm 43. It's a great pleasure to honor number 42. We're glad you're here, 42...Mr. Rodham did have the joy of seeing his only daughter become America's First Lady. And I know he would not be surprised to see her as she is today, an elected United States Senator, and a woman greatly admired in our country."

Since that evening, Senator Clinton has repaid the president's kindness towards her and her family by saying, among other mean-spirited things: "I sometimes feel that Alfred E. Neuman is in charge in Washington" and "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country." (The last said on Martin Luther King's birthday, a day that should symbolize a coming together of parties and people of diverse viewpoints).

The kindness President Bush showed former President Clinton takes on extra meaning when one remembers the cynical words Clinton had for then-governor Bush when Bush was running for President in 2000: "The message of the Bush campaign is just that, I mean: 'How bad could I be? I've been Governor of Texas. My daddy was president. I owned a baseball team.'" Only last year, Clinton went on to abrogate the unwritten rule between ex-presidents of not speaking ill of them, especially when overseas (no less, when we're at war). Clinton told a group of Arab students in Dubai that the United States made a "big mistake" when it invaded Iraq. Did the ex-president not know that his condemnation of the war, spoken in the heart of the Middle East, could damage the morale of the brave Iraqi people and frontline American troops who risk their lives everyday in the name of democracy? Clinton earned $300,000 for speaking against America's interests that day.

Despite both Clintons disrespectful comments, President Bush offered a contrast in style few could miss. During his 2006 State of the Union address, he offered nothing but gracious good humor when he said his father's "two favorite people" - Bill Clinton and himself - were turning 60. As laughter filled the Senate chamber, the camera recorded a stone-faced Hillary Clinton. At the very least, a polite smile would have sufficed, allowing Americans to see that their leaders can put politics aside for but a moment.

But the Democrats aren't able to put politics aside. They're too angry with President Bush for everything from winning the election in 2000 to having the gall to monitor terrorists' phone conversations. Even after the president shared credit with the Democrats on the reduction of crime and the lowering of welfare rolls and teenage pregnancies, the Democrats - in keeping with their "if it's bad for America, it's good for Democrats" theme - applauded enthusiastically only when Bush mentioned the failure of social security reform. Class versus crass.

The contrast becomes even clearer when one expands the field to include the First Lady and she who would be queen, Theresa Heinz Kerry. Can anyone imagine the dignified Laura Bush telling a newsperson to "shove it" or using the term "scumbags" in a taped interview as Heinz Kerry did during the 2004 campaign? Class versus crass.

And even as the body of Coretta Scott King lay in state, the Democrats could not resist using her funeral as a way of being uncivil to President Bush. Who can forget the Reverend Joseph Lowery choosing to eclipse what should have been a heartfelt eulogy in order to remind the audience that "We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there"? Or, ex-President Jimmy Carter,choosing the reflective occasion to hurl gratuitous remarks in the president's direction? Once again, President Bush took the high road, embracing Lowery and speaking dignified, respectful and healing words about Mrs. King. Class versus crass.

The president's demeanor, standing as it does in perfect counterpoint to that of his political adversaries, is one of the reasons Republicans control the House, the Senate and the White House, and, I predict, will continue to do so. Americans prefer nice people, because they recognize that a thriving civilization requires civil people.

President Bush had it right when he said, "America is a great force for freedom and prosperity. Yet our greatness is not measured in power or luxuries, but by who we are and how we treat one another." Now that's class.

Dummycrat Joe Biden previewed his $30 Billion dollar education plan, early reports have him plagiarizing parts of it from Barry Obambi and Hellary.

Biden told students at Des Moines East High that he would be...

"the education president unlike any president has in American history."

Biden is pictured showing the mathematical probability he'll actually become President...

ZERO!

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

During his appearance, Biden was questioned about special needs kids.

His response included praising Tom Harkins three times.

They've only served together 22 years so I could see why he might not know CommieTommie too well.

I bet his report cards gave him low marks in works and plays well with others.

Take three

I thought the third debate started out boring, but got interesting later.

I'm amused that when pressed by Bob Schieffer, Obama's big budget cut was a $15 Billion dollar subsidy.

In all three debates Obama scoffed at the savings McCain pushed on earmarks because "it's not going to solve the problem".

Per Obama, earmark savings amount to $18 Billion.

McCain finally had an excellent comeback to Obama comparing him to President Bush...

"I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago. I'm going to give a new direction to this economy in this country".

McCain scored when he painted Obama as the big spender that he is...

"Sen. Obama talks about the budgets I voted for. He voted for the last two budgets that had that $24 billion more in spending than the budget that the Bush administration proposed.
He voted for the energy bill that was full of goodies for the oil companies that I opposed. So the fact is, let's look at our records, Sen. Obama. Let's look at it as graded by the National Taxpayers Union and the Citizens Against Government Waste and the other watchdog organizations".
Obama had a couple of gaffes when he tried to tie McCain, again, to Bush policies...

"But when it comes to economic policies, essentially what you're proposing is eight more years of the same thing. And it hasn't worked".

Presidential terms are four years, with a maximum of eight.

It's not the first time Obama, a Constitutional Scholar?, made a mistake in front of Bob Schieffer regarding the length of a Presidential term and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Obama also erred when he said...

"And 100 percent, John, of your ads -- 100 percent of them have been negative".

Obama was not completely truthful about his association with ACORN...

"The only involvement I've had with ACORN was I represented them alongside the U.S. Justice Department in making Illinois implement a motor voter law..."

Obama served as general counsel for ACORN in Illinois, channeled millions to the organization from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (whose funds he distributed), and has lately spent $800,000 of his campaign money to subsidize the group's activities.

Digging deeper you'll find that during Obama's organizing years he taught future leaders identified by ACORN and was a part of their Project Vote.

ACORN and his connections may be Obama's downfall, as the voter fraud ACORN has perpatrated has reached 11 states so far.

Back to the debate.

Some may consider it a gaffe, but I thought John McCain was right on when he referred to Obama as "Senator Government".

Obama scared the hell out of me when he proposed his less than strict judicial litmus test...

"the most important thing in any judge is their capacity to provide fairness and justice to the American people".

Obama as a lawyer knows the law isn't always fair, it's not a judges role to make it so.

As a Senator, Obama should realize the role of the legislative branch of our government is to write laws.

I was less than moved by Obama's argument regarding equal pay for equal work, namely because Obama and Biden pay the women on their Senate staff's less than John McCain pays his.

Per Scripps-Howard columnist Deroy Murdock...

Obama’s 28 male staffers divided among themselves total payroll expenditures of $1,523,120. Thus, Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397. Obama’s 30 female employees split $1,354,580 among themselves, or $45,152, on average … on average, Obama’s female staffers earn just 83 cents for every dollar his male staffers make …

As for Biden, his 14 male staffers split a total payroll outlay of $1,077,128.40. So, Biden’s average male employee earned $76,937.74 per annum.

Biden’s 27 female employees divided $1,517,874.47, or $56,217.57, on average.

Among Biden’s top five highest-paid aides, one was a woman. Among the top 20, 11 were women.

All told, for every dollar that Biden paid his average male staffer, his female equivalent made only 73 cents.

McCain’s payment patterns are the stuff of feminist dreams. McCain’s 17 male staffers split $916,914, thus averaging $53,936. His 25 female employees divided $1,396,958 and averaged $55,878. On average, according to these data, women in McCain’s office make $1.04 for every dollar a man makes.

I loved how McCain accurately portrayed the left's "Pro Abortion Movement", because that's what pro choice really is.

Don't believe Obama on his Born-Alive Infants Protection Act stance or Partial Birth Abortion, his own campaign has had to correct him on that.

Watch out when Obama talks about preventing "unintended pregnancies by providing appropriate education to our youth".

Last month Byron York discovered what an Illinois sex-education bill, supported by Obama, was really about.

When Schieffer stated the U.S. spends more per capita than any other country on education. Yet, by every international measurement, in math and science competence, from kindergarten through the 12th grade, we trail most of the countries of the world.

Obama's response was to throw more money at the education system.

McCain was correct when he stated...

"throwing money at the problem is not the answer. You will find that some of the worst school systems in America get the most money per student".

McCain has used this solution several times...

we take good teachers and we reward them and promote them and we find bad teachers another line of work.

Obama on bad teachers...

And we also agree on the need for making sure that if we have bad teachers that they are swiftly -- after given an opportunity to prove themselves, if they can't hack it, then we need to move on...

If you know they're bad teachers they've already proven they cant hack it.

McCain ended with which candidate you can trust...

to be careful stewards of your tax dollar, to make sure America is safe and secure and prosperous, to make sure we reform the institutions of government.
That's why I've asked you not only to examine my record, but my proposals for the future of this country.
I've spent my entire life in the service of this nation and putting my country first. As a long line of McCains that have served our country for a long time in war and in peace, it's been the great honor of my life, and I've been proud to serve.
And I hope you'll give me an opportunity to serve again. I'd be honored and humbled.

Unfrozen Caveman Scholar

Joe Biden, who in October bragged about being "the education president unlike any president has in American history", said yesterday...

"...the president has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran. And I want to make it clear, I want it on the record, and I want to make it clear, if he does, as chairman of the foreign relations committee and former chair of the judiciary committee, I will move to impeach him."

Biden tries to come across as an intellectual when he says...

"...I have written an extensive legal memorandum with the help of a group of legal scholars who are sort of a stable of people, the best-known constitutional scholars in America, because for 17 years I was chairman of the Judiciary Committee."

Biden even brags about being a "constitutional scholar" on his Senate web page.

Shouldn't a "constitutional scholar" and the one time chairman of the Judiciary Committee know that the House has the SOLE power to Impeach?

Article I Section 2
Clause 5: The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

And the scientific community is united in that fact!

With friends like Harkin

CommieTommie Harkin gave President Bush a couple of backhanded slaps in his criticism of Che Junior, Hugo Chavez.

According to Radio Iowa..... Harkin said the comments were "incendiary", then went on to say, "Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies." Harkin continued what has been frequent criticism of the president's foreign policy.

Harkin says Bush came to office saying he wanted a new humility in foreign policy in reaching out to other countries, but Harkin says Bush's actual policy has been heavy handed. Harkin says the anger against Bush is generated from the Iraq war, which Harkin says was "unnecessary."

Unnecessary? Then why did you vote YEA?

Harkin says, "We tend to forget that a few days after 9-1-1 thousands, thousands of Iranians marched in a candlelight procession in Teheran in support of the United States. Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that." Harkin says the U.S. has put billions of dollars into the Iraq war, when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education.

I remember Palistinians dancing in the streets , pictured, at the 9-11 attacks.

The Ragister provided CommieTommie ground cover saying Harkin was more critical of Chavez in an e-mail press release.

“While I understand the frustrations of many in the international community because of George W. Bush’s policies, I do not believe that gives them the right to come to our country and personally insult and attack the President of the United States.”

Tusk and Talon weigh in with....Embracing leftist scum dictators (please excuse the redundancy) is nothing new for Harkin, however. He has a long history of cozying up to the likes of Castro, Ortega and others. Frontpagemagazine did a lengthy feature on him back in 2004.
Here are some highlights from that article:

During Harkin’s 1982 re-election campaign, his opponent documented that this Democratic congressman had always voted against foreign aid for countries friendly to the U.S., but that Harkin had voted to give taxpayer money to Communist Vietnam, Communist Cuba, Communist Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Marxist Sandinista Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua and other Communist nations. When this came up in a broadcast debate, Harkin replied: “From now on, I am going to vote against all foreign aid.”

In 1982 CommieTommie was a Congressman, emphasis on the CON.

Back then I was calling him the Representative from Nicaragua.

It's been against my wildest wishes that he got as far as he did.

Senator Harkin:
I was embarrassed to be an Iowan yesterday when I read your remarks about Hugo Chavez' speech at the United Nations. It is stunning when the likes of Charles Rangel and Nancy Pelosi will stick up for our President when the head of a foreign nation calls him the devil, but you make an apologist statement about Chavez saying you can understand his frustration. Your remarks are being carried in several publications yesterday and today so the entire country can see your depth of disdain for the President. It is unfortunate that you seem to put your party's political goals above those the the nation's.

Normally I would, but I just received a reply this week to an e-mail I sent him months ago.

He's always late in his response, if he responds at all.

So, I'll use this blog as my way to tell "that twit" what I think of him too....and I don't have to be diplomatic.

I borrowed from a couple of sources to give the complete picture to what President Obama said in Iowa City yesterday.

“I’m the president of the United States — it was only about eight years ago that we finished paying off our student loans. And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy making those payments, because once we had Malia and Sasha, we’re trying to save for their college education even as we’re paying off our own college educations.”

Really?

Obama's income eight years ago (2004), according to his tax returns, was $207,647.

I'd like to feel that pain and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Obama also said his effort to keep college loans affordable “is personal for me.”“I know something about this, because Michelle and I, we went through it,” he said. “And it wasn’t that long ago. We’ve been in your shoes.

As for saving for the girls education, Money Magazine, in 2007, advised they should start 529 college savings plans for their two girls.

“When he ran in 2008, he had an idea for an American opportunity tax credit, where you volunteer 200 hours in your local community and get a $4,000 tax credit. … I didn’t see much about that after the president took office.”

I have been underwhelmed by Mitt Romney, since I heard him speak and mitt him--oops met him at Principal Financial (9/28 Post...'08 Republicans).

I appreciate his support of President Bush and mentioned that I agreed on 5 issues facing this country...

The latest has been on the issue of President Bush's tax cuts, against them as Governor and for them now.

He's flip-flopped on abortion, gay rights, bi-lingual education and other issues.

Romney was in Iowa recently trying to claim the conservative crown...

"I'm not the most conservative candidate on every issue, but I am what I am..."

I've certainly had all that I can stand and I can't stands no more!

Best Biden Ever

It appears Joe Biden measured up(?) to Barack Obama's high standards.

Obama bypassed what I believed was the safe pick (Bayh Bayh Biden)and did go with someone who'll be a challenge.

I can only hope Joseph ROBINETTE Biden Jr. will spend a lot of time in Iowa, it's the scene of a few of Biden's Best and the scientific community is united in that fact.

In an Iowa debate, in his 1988 Presidential bid, Biden plagiarized Neil Kinnock almost word for word from a Kinnock TV commercial designed to evoke memories of the British class struggle.

Where Kinnock's coal-mining ancestors worked "eight hours underground," Biden's somewhat mythical forebears "would come up after twelve hours." Biden in the past had given credit to Kinnock, but in Iowa he introduced the fiery rhetoric by deceptively claiming, "I started thinking as I was coming over here . . ."

He was in Iowa, he would have been better off thinking of Nile Kinnick.

Last year, in Des Moines, Biden was on the money when he said...Americans must not vote for inexperienced, likeable presidential candidates, then hope the winner can get up to speed after the election.

While trying to tell kids at Des Moines East High that he would be "the education president unlike any president has in American history", Biden referred three times to Iowa's Junior Senator as Tom Harkins.

Biden and Harkin(s) have been in the Senate together for over 22 years.

Obama has been known to borrow words without attribution, maybe that's one reason he picked Biden.

Maybe he borrowed, from Biden, the pay grade statement last Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how they spin the CHANGE angle with someone who's been in the Senate since 1973 and dance around bad lobbyists when one of Biden's sons, Hunter, is a registered Washington lobbyist.

Defeat from the jaws of Victory?

John Kerry said it was "a botched joke about the president and the president's people..." when he told a group of students at Pasadena City College....

You know, education--if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Reaction from the students was mixed with some laughter and gasps.

Reaction from the White House was swift (pun intended)....

President Bush called the comment, "insulting and shameful." and said the troops deserve an apology.

The President also said, "Our troops did not enlist because they did not study hard in school or do their homework, The men and women who serve in our all-volunteer armed forces are plenty smart and are serving because they are patriots."

Tony Snow, White House Bruce Secretary, said...the quote "fits a pattern" of negative remarks about U.S. soldiers from the decorated Vietnam veteran and suggested that whether Democratic candidates - particularly those running on their military service backgrounds - agree with their 2004 standard-bearer should be a campaign litmus test.

Bruce Braley, afraid it'll cost him votes in Iowa's 1st Congressional District, said Kerry's recent comments about the Iraq war were inappropriate.

He's also CUT & RUN from Kerry, canceling a campaign event later this week with the Senator.

A Democratic congressman told ABC News Tuesday, "I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too."

Referring to it as...

"...an issue of basic civil rights. There are no federal laws that protect obese Americans from discrimination in the workplace, school, or anywhere else This must change."

This summer Nacho Funny pandered to Iowans...

"Iowa, for good reason, for constitutional reasons, for reasons related to the Lord, should be the first caucus and primary."

And he admitted to pandering...

"This was an Iowa crowd — I'm trying to score points..."

Black Superman

Last week (Over You) we learned that during President Obama's first term the unionization rate -- the percentage of American workers belonging to unions -- declined faster than during two terms of President George W. Bush.

Going into the last elections, many knew that the black/white wealth gap has widened; the black unemployment rate has risen to alarming proportions, especially in inner cities; the home foreclosure crisis has hit the black community with fiercely disproportionate consequences; poor black and brown communities continue to be devastated by crime. The murder of black and brown youth is commonplace, even just blocks from Obama's Chicago mansion and his new home in the stately White House. At the same time, public education for blacks has deteriorated drastically.

Now, it's finally starting to dawn on Obama's base --

NAACP president: Black people worse off under Obama

More proof that Obama was re-elected by an illiterate electorate and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Although, the reality wouldn't have mattered to these Useful Idiots.

...The media is staging a coup against Mr. Bush. They cannot impeach him because he hasn't done anything illegal. But they can endlessly tell us what a loser he is and how out of touch he is (and I mean ENDLESSLY) and how he's just a vestigial organ on the body politic right now.

The media is doing what it can to basically oust Mr. Bush while still leaving him alive and well in the White House. It's a sort of neutron bomb of media that seeks to kill him while leaving the White House standing (for their favorite unknown, Barack Obama, to occupy).

...The truth is that we are in a huge economic boom. We are coming off a mammoth real estate explosion that put the most Americans in history in their own homes. We have totally full employment. After decades of stagnation, real wages are rising. Gasoline prices are way, way down. The nation is wealthier than it has ever been (although this is very unevenly distributed). Opportunities for subsidized higher education are better than they have ever been.

Most important of all, who would have ever been rash enough on September 12, 2001 to say there would not be one major or even minor successful terrorist incident against the U.S. homeland in over five years? Who would have thought we would escape without more massive terror? But we have, and it is a foolhardy person who would say that's an accident. Bush may not have done it by himself, but he had something to do with it.

...no one elected the media to anything. If we let them lynch the man we elected as President we are throwing out the Constitution with the war in Iraq. In the studios and newsrooms, there is a lynch mob at work. Let's see it for what it is. We have a good man who has made mistakes in the Oval Office. He's the only President we have, and I trust him a lot more than I trust unelected princes of the newsroom.

Kennedy's & VietNam

I've always been silently amused when Kopechne Killer Kennedy rants about President Bush & Iraq.

Especially when he wants to call it Bush's VietNam!

It was his idol brother Jack who escalated American involvement in that country by increasing military "advisors", involving Special Forces and finally regular military.

JFK also allowed for napalm & defoliants and free fire zones.

I almost forgot his complicity in the overthrow of the duly elected government of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem, probably in Diem's subsequent murder too.

Today I came across an excellent column by Jeff Jacoby that takes Kopechne Killer to task for his complicity in the downfall of VietNam.

Bush played no role in the fall of South Vietnam and Cambodia to the Communists in 1975, of course.

But Kennedy did.

He helped lead the congressional drive to cut off financial aid to the pro-American governments in Saigon and Phnom Penh, brushing aside President Gerald Ford's warning that "the horror and the tragedy that we see on television" would only grow worse if America deserted its allies.

But Kennedy and the Democrats spurned Ford's request, and the result was unspeakable agony -- Cambodia's killing fields, Vietnam's re-education camps, waves of "boat people" hurling themselves into the sea. Having seen the results of US abandonment in Indochina, how can Kennedy advocate the same policy in Iraq?

To me it's simple....whether at Chappaquiddick, VietNam or Iraq all Kopechne Killer Kennedy know's is RUN AWAY!

This whole President Obama is a Muslim debate is interesting.

Forgotten is how Democrats, in 2007, were believed involved at the beginning of Obama's campaign --

An investigation of Mr. Obama by political opponents within the Democratic Party has discovered that Mr. Obama was raised as a Muslim by his stepfather in Indonesia...

Sources said the background check, conducted by researchers connected to Senator Clinton, disclosed details of Mr. Obama’s Muslim past. The sources said the Clinton camp concluded the Illinois Democrat concealed his prior Muslim faith and education.

And this incident took place in Iowa --

Plus, the President didn't do himself any favors with this comment on national television --

"...you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith...".

I'm taking the David Gates and Bread approach, "It Don't Matter To Me".

The results of this Pew poll are interesting --

Only 46 percent of Democrats believe Obama is a Christian.

Blacks are tied with Catholics as the group most uncertain about Obama’s religion (46 percent).

Moderate-to-liberal Republicans are the least likely to believe Obama is a Christian (26 percent).

It just goes to show you that it's not a Right Wing Republican issue and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Higher Learning

I can't help but chuckle about the latest Obama TV ad Higher Education.

The spot features pictures of a young Obama with his mother and at school as the narrator paints a picture of a president who understands the importance of education.

“His mother got him up before dawn to do schoolwork. She knew what it meant for his future. 

That would be the same Obama who thanked his hippie drug dealer and the Choom Gang in his high school yearbook, but not his Mother.

And the scientific community is united in that fact.

Obama on schoolwork -- “He told his Choom Gang mates that the trick was if you put the textbook under your pillow the night before you would perform better on an exam”.

Is that another Total Absorption (TA) technique?

Education

What is with Rozanne, err Taxanne Conlin and tax credits?

Conlin this week proposed giving federal tax credits to teachers who have to purchase supplies for use in their classrooms.

Is that in addition to the up to $250, per teacher, that educator's can deduct from their taxes for unreimbursed expenses?

Knowing Taxanne, it would be and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Conlin was out of step with her President, as she was proposing more federal backing of education, Obama stated money isn't the cure for America's ailing school system.

"...the fact is that our per-pupil spending has gone up during the last couple of decades even as results have gone down".

Success?

Day 1 of the Dummycrats is done, let's look at who they featured in their lineup.

Harry Reid -- Should have to explain why his Senate hasn't approved a budget since April 29, 2009.

Lilly Ledbetter -- Should be asking President Obama why his White House pays women less than men. She should demand to know why Senate Democrats, including CommieTommie Harkin, pay women staffers less than men staffers.

Rahm Emanuel -- He should have used his time to read the names of all those murdered in Chicago since he became Mayor.

Pat Quinn -- The only nice thing you can say is he's not Rod Blagojevich. The Illinois Governor has pushed through $7 billion in taxes.


Martin O'Malley -- The Democratic governor of Maryland has seen his term marred by job losses, population flight, and crippling ethical scandals.

Under Governor O’Malley, Maryland has enacted more than 20 fee and tax raises and increased government spending in an effort to revive the economy.

The result has been 30,000 lost jobs since O’Malley’s inauguration in 2007—and 30,000 lost taxpayers, many of whom moved to escape higher taxes.

O'Malley's parlayed that in the Keynote Speaker role at CommieTommie's Steak Fry and mentioned as a 2016 candidate.

Julian Castro -- The San Antonio Mayor has failed to reduce crime and improve education, as promised.

These people put the SUCK in Success and the scientific community is united in that fact.

Michell Obama -- Sadly she believes her husband is a "man we can trust" to revive the nation's weak economy.

Honey, if it ain't happened in the first four, it surely won't in the next four!

Michelle also confided that at family dinners in the White House with her and their daughters, the president joins in "strategizing about middle school friendships."

Strategizing middle school friendships?

That sounds like something her husband did to plot a political career.

The President is going to deliver a speech to the nation's school children and the White House has released an advance copy.

The media has been reporting the speech has caused controversy and the Minister of Propaganda, Robert Gibbs, compared it to an 'Animal House' food fight.

The controversy was about the study guides, which the White House withdrew, such as how to "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president."

It would be nice if they would take the responsibility, that they're asking from others, in how they mishandled this event.

Honor?

I was watching the news last night and caught a story about the Moline School Board honoring a hometown hero with his high school diploma 47 years after he left school.

A woman, who resembles the School Board President, says the "Board of Education is proud to award a Moline High School Diploma to John F. Baker post-hugh-muss-lee".

That shows you what a Moline education is worth and the scientific community is united in that fact.

It gets worse.

John F. Baker was a recipient of the Medal of Honor for saving eight fellow soldiers and had been denied entry into the school's Hall of Honor in 2004 because he had not formally graduated.

This honor(?) came 6 months after his death.

Classless.
